You dont just get to become an HA by buying a bike and some leathers...you have to work your way up through the ranks. Prospects dont work their way up by an honest living...they work the street level crime first...some take the fall for a full patch. With the seizure of the clubhouse, it puts pressure on them...ya they will prolly get it back, but it is still unwanted pressure. Anyone who has been a witness to a crime committed by an associate or member knows what tactics they will use to coerce the witness not to testify. And its ok to turn a back on someone you know because of a life they lead, family and/or friend...its the strongest message anyone can give that you arent ok with their choice in life. But if anyone wants to associate with HA, then they should be prepared to have their name on a list of known associates...that is what happens and it is very difficult to have that removed. They are an Organized Crime Gang, how anyone can deny that is mind boggling.

Well, it strikes me that you're in pretty much in a permanent state of outrage, and I'm sure my comments have little to do with it. It's probably the only thing that animates your bitter, stunted soul.

In the neighbourhood where I grew up in, the cops were just as dangerous as the criminals. Maybe you have your little white-bread notions about Dudley Dooright, but that ain't the way things work on the other side of the tracks. I've met a hell just as many asshole cops than I've met asshole bikers. Once you give dominant males who have a predisposition to violence (i.e. cops and bikers) a group identity in which to hide their individuality, you get pretty much the same behaviour patterns. You'd be surprised how many cops are closet bikers--and not undercover. Next to a Hells' Angels house, you'll probably see more Harley bikes and patches on your local off-duty cops than anywhere else.

I don't think you grasp the concept that just because they aren't directly hurting you, these people are a drain on society.
Think of it this way. How much of your tax dollars go towards keeping these fuckers in prison because of the very illegal things that they are carrying out. Just because they keep your neighbourhood nice and safe you turn a blind eye to the countless number of places that are utter shitholes because of the work that they're doing. But that's okay, because you're not addicted to their cocaine or don't owe them money, so you're safe, for now...

And Zip, I grew up with cops all around me. I'm sorry you've met a few that abuse their power, but I know way too many good cops that will (and have) completely shunned those that abuse their power. I'm sorry you had to go through that. A true police officer will see things as it is and call it as it is, they don't lie, they don't distort the truth, if there's something going on that they don't like, if someone they know is doing something they don't like, they'll call you on it.
And yes, there are a number of cops that are bikers, they even have a name, the "Blue Knights" I believe. I knew a few. Yes, they are bikers, motorcycle enthusiasts, but they're also some of the best cops I've ever met. Some may be bad cops, unfortunately that happens.
The Hells Angels maybe wear leather and ride around on motorcycles, but that is simply an image that they carry. Again, the HA are nothing more and nothing less than criminals, thugs, goons, the lowlifes of society. I don't give a flying fuck if they're good neighbours or if they throw a kick ass party. They are criminals.
You are willingly blind to such a fact, and I pity you for that.





After the Fact Add In:
I just realized that I'm yet to comment on the seizure.
I am in complete support of it, I think it lets these thugs know that they're going to have to be a little more careful, cut down on what they're doing, that they're no longer going to have free reign. Even if it's decided that they should turn the property over to the HA, I think it's sending a message that things are starting to change. I think it's a very necessary step and if these seizures and resulting arrests continue, I think it will deal a nice blow against organized crime in Canada.
A blow to the criminals, no matter how slight, is priceless in my mind.

As for the Blue Knights, you can tell who they are right away. They wear the leather and they've got the decals and patches. And they ride some pretty wicked looking bikes. But they're still cops, they just have an common enthusiasm as many of their fellow police officers from across North America. You might even call them a gang, but they don't sell drugs, pimp, murder, etc. They put those fuckers away, and ride motorcycles on their free time.
