I'm so confused. It is a reference to current events where a chimp was shot and also an insult to the poor writing of the stimulus bill. How is it racist? Al Sharpton needs to take off his race goggles.

I took it at first glance to be one of the "infinity monkey's bashing on infinity typewriters" and that was the chimp that pounded out the "nonsense" that was the stimulus bill.

On reading the article I can see the connection with the Connecticut story.

I think it comes down to a simple question of whether we are going to judge the man by his stated intentions or whether we plan to judge him by what some perceive him to have said. Sharpton et al simply failed to judge the cartoon in light of the context of current events.

And George Bush was of a race that hasn't histoically been referred to as monkeys by white sumpremacists, Obama is.
