ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog:

genuine Nazis can't be Muslim, nor non-Aryan, much as they might wish to be.

Oh really? Then explain the thousands of Albanian(good Muslims too), Croatian, Ukrainian and other non Germanic units in the Waffen SS. Nah they weren't good national socialists were they?

I think that in the case of certain Slavic peoples and the Bosniacs were more concerned with fending off the ever-present threat of Soviet domination and/or local threats (e.g. inter-ethnic violence in Yugo), allegiance with Hitler and Mussolini was more a marriage of convenience for both sides and ultimately would have been short lived in any event as soon as one side stopped being useful to the other.

Thanos Thanos:
One: he isn't important in the slightest, he's only notable for the depth of his social and class hypocrisy
Two: he's merely getting called out for taking a cheap shot at someone who did something silly when they were seven years old

Three: He's a comedian, it's kind'a his job. Was the joke "out of line"? Maybe, but then that's where the humour in some jokes comes from. He's Britain's version of a "shock comedian".
Four: He didn't actually call her a nazi, he was just having some fun with names and the fact the Royal Family has Teutonic heritage. Then again, maybe Russell does too. The surname "Brand" is Germanic in origin

The sad thing is though, there was a time when Russell Brand actually was mildly funny, for about 5 minutes.

The thing is that he was being serious. It wasn't the comedian on display, it was the faux-outrage bourgeoisie revolutionary coming to save the pitiful masses that he was channelling. Probably not a comedian alive today that hasn't taken a shot at the royals over the Hitler fetish some of them had back in the 1930's, or nailed them with something worse, but none of those other ones have set themselves up as some guru to follow the way Brand has been doing with himself over the last couple of years.

Huh, never noticed that last bit about him. He must really suck at it then.

Nailed it.

I hate it when a genuine comedic genius goes political for real.

This was undeserved reaching for something that wasn't there to start with. And yes for some cause of educating everyone below his .....guruness does suit the moment....

Just a Germanic version of that Seinfeld character. Sounds good, too.

He can still be serious and ply his craft.
The point he tried to make basically was to disparage The Royalty .

A concept that deserves to be disparaged in the 21st century.
I'm guessing this wouldn't be an issue for anyone here if he had gone off on any other "royal family", but apparently Lizzie and her brood are still sacrosanct.

Apparently, the Royals ties to Nazi Germany may be closer than the public knows. The Royal family is unwilling to release much of the records and correspondence past 1918 so we are left guessing. Aside from this old movie, we know that the Royals have found themselves in a similar situation not long ago when Harry choose to wear a Nazi uniform to a costume party. There should be a push to have the records released for the sake of historical accuracy. This could further that cause. If the Royals want to walk and talk like Nazis, it is in no way off limits for comedians to joke about it.

The Kaiser was of the same family. He was adamant about air bombing raids with the new weapon the Zeppelin in WWI. He was lied to when those air bombing raids went wrong and school kids were killed among other civilians and no military hits were made. The loss of power to the military went unchecked. I guess he just wanted to hang on to what ever was left for him, not unlike the Windsors .

When the world came of age and decided to dump these people as leaders with power, there were a few bumps on the way . Due mostly to the fact countries no longer recognized their power and the deals made through marriage.

Comedians deliver punch lines, Brand stopped being one long ago (if at all he was one). No Russell Brand is all about being a champagne socialist/activist now. This is the only time he's in the public spotlight now. No radio show, no T appearances, no stand up. This is his only recent TV appearance (watch him get shut down but fast at 23:36): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2RSKJC-ugk

she was about 7 years old for Christ's sake.

That doesn't matter to guys like him. 7 year old kids should be held accountable for things like this but, adults rioting and destroying property under the banner of "protest" get a free pass.
.

Nice try numbskulls try reading first. Her mother and uncle, both grownups are doing Nazi salutes to camera. It's perfectly in bounds for a comedian to tease her about it in 2015. Lighten up you crusty old prudes.
