Russia has again changed ''aims of the special operation''

The Russian military starting to have problems with funding – The Chief Intelligence Directorate

Ukraine claims it killed one of Russia's top generals in Ukraine - Yakov Rezantsev, Russia's 49th Combined Arms Army commander

Russian soldiers ran over their commander, apparently blaming him for heavy losses in Ukraine, Western official says

Ukraine Situation Report: U.S. Says Russia May Be Giving Up On Taking Kyiv

No one thought this would be easy and there has been a high cost but you have to admit this has totally upended Russia assumed place in the world. The ONLY thing that is keeping Russia from collapsing entirely is the threat of nukes. When the economy caves in the coming months and the population turns on Putin what happens then?

bootlegga bootlegga:
This war doesn't prove that armour is obsolete - it shows that the Russian Army is a paper tiger, with lousy doctrine, poorly trained troops, and terrible logistics.

^^ This.

Hitler said they just needed to knock the door in and the whole house would collapse. He was doing it wrong. You don't unite Europe from within, you need an existential threat from the outside to unite them.

The Ukrainians have shattered the myth of the "invincible" Russian military.

They even wrote a song about it.

Question: How long can Russia throw artillery at the major cities? If they focus on Donbass, I assume they will continue artillery bombardment, but how long can they do it for?

In theory indefinitely but it then comes to the pragmatic of diminishing returns (once you pound a city into a Stalingrad arty is pointless) and manpower/material drain. They don't have the trucks to keep up the tempo and have not stockpiled shells beforehand.
