Yes this old geezer killed his daughters and wife #1 to restore the family honour. The one though that brought dishonor to his family was him, his daughters were fine they were just trying to be Canadians and not some version of Afghanistan womanhood that existed in his own mind.

The only bad thing about deporting them is that they would probably be heroes back home, but that problem can wait 25 years.

No shit it's domestic abuse. It's a specific kind of domestic abuse that is all too prevalent in certain primitive cultures where religion plays a strong role. Latin American(although not as much nowadays), South Asian(India and Pakistan both have long histories of women being killed, usually by in laws), and and Islamic societies are good examples of cultures that refuse to accept the equality of women, seeing them more as property than as persons

Nope. Culture does. It's a strange story. The guy doesn't seem like a devout Muslim - no beard for instance. He didn't make the women wear bags. Ya, lots of cultures have primitive ideas about family honour and honour killings. I haven't read anything in this case that suggests he was motivated by religion, hes just a conservative.

The tragedy is if these fuckers get deported, they go free and never have to answer for their crime, if they rot in prison for the next 25 years, then we the tax payer gets to foot the bill... Time to re-examine the Death Penalty...
