It’s a shame that a topic that truly deserves attention has fallen into another pissing contest about religion.

This isn’t a story about religion. Come on guys....

Sounds like it's been an open secret for years. It has just been confirmed with the videos. As has lots of other things are these days

Most of these Schools are cesspools for this shit. I knew someone who went to Upper Canada College 30 years ago and he was sexually assaulted.

$1:
The Canadian Press spoke with police sources who confirmed that the charges filed Monday involved a group of students, aged 14 and 15, on the football team who allegedly pinned down another student in a locker room and sexually assaulted him with a broom handle.

If the victim of this assault came to school and shot these bastards to death and I ended up on the jury then it would be an acquittal.

It's unfortunate that these bullies have taken "hazing" to an all new level of deprivation because like it or not hazing serves a very necessary purpose.

It brings people together through a shared experience. What people who've never gone through a hazing ritual fail to understand is it's a common practice that when done properly doesn't cause unnecessary hardship or embarrassment to a person and it sure as hell doesn't give an complete and permanent power of one person over another.

Hazing has been used effectively for years. For example the military allows a form of hazing to instill discipline, esprit des corps and unit cohesion during basic training and beyond. Sports teams use a form of hazing when rookies join the team to introduce them quickly into the teams culture and even some charitable service clubs use it when they induct new members, all with no ill or permanent debilitating effects to the people being hazed.

The problem with hazing is that it can easily turn into abusive hazing and the sole domain of one group of power hungry assholes who use pain, suffering and humiliation to entertain themselves. So, rather than stopping hazing all together the most viable solution would be to stop assholes from being allowed to co-opt the process for their own personal gain.

But a question. Why does the worst hazing abuse always seem to take place in institutions of learning?

Yup. It's true. And it seems the bullies and jocks always get a pass to terrorize other students.

I was talking about this earlier, and because these kids have money, they'll get alternative measures and never see the inside of a cell or detention centre.

What they, their parents, and the administrators should see is the inside of a casket.

And specifically, "All Boys" institutions. Never heard of anything like this in "All Girls" ones. Although they can be mean bitches as well, just not to this level.

No Argument there. Anyone who preys on a child deserves the very worst in life.

DrCaleb DrCaleb:
Why not?

Better to let the police do their job for a few weeks at least so we get a more accurate view of things. Such threads nearly always contain statements that are later shown to be grossly inaccurate.
