I read that Hummer, Saab and Saturn are all GM brands that will die. I'd almost expect if they are willing to kill Saturn, that anything is possible.

Swedish government rejects Saab plan.

"The company can't pay its debts. Saab is bankrupt, slut, finito, finished and kaput," Svenska Dagbladet analyst Nils-Olof Ollevik wrote on Saturday.

You could see the Saturn thing coming. GM bled away any attempt at innovation in the last few years. Just another clone.
Funny thing is how all those clones are originated from Saabs....
Hoped they'd see the light and ditch Pontiac and GMC trucks.

I'd rather see them ditch Chevrolet and use the GMC brand for trucks and SUV's, Pontiac for cars.

Never liked the styling on the Chevrolet cars... ever.

They won't ditch Chevrolet except as a last resort.

From a marketing standpoint it would make more sense to kill Buick instead.

Their best selling brand in China? No they wouldn't do that either.

Saab was easily the equivalent to Volvo, and Saturn is regularly at the top end of the quality curve for GM.

The fact GM has sunk one, and is planning to let the other die convinces me they really don’t have a plan or a goal.

When the banks won’t loan them money, the governments should pay closer attention.
