Kinda makes you wonder...

How many times does this sort of thing happen and you don't hear about it.

Two big businesses. I'm wondering about smaller installations. Would we hear about those?

Badly installed solar panels bad! Electrical safety allowing self inspection for city permits, bad!

Tesla is also bad that they didn't follow up their purchase of Solar City by honouring the work they did by fixing the damage to these locations.

"Walmart has also pre-ordered at least 45 Tesla electric trucks to add to its vehicle fleet." 8O

Driving down the highway and see one of these on fire would scar people for a life time away from solar power.

The trucks aren't solar powered, BTW . . .

Yes but people will associate WallMart/Tesla with solar power.

I bet almost no one knows about Tesla's solar roof or Powerwall products.

They know the cars. They love the cars. ;)

Hard to know about, or care much about products that aren't available. Not that I dislike their current offerings...I dislike that I can not have them.

Granted, it is not ideal for us, you and me...and anyone else that lives at our latitude.

Our ideal summer angle is 27 degrees. (5/12 roof pitch)

Our ideal winter angle is 53 degrees. (16/12 roof pitch)

Nothing insurmountable, if you are building new. Not always the easiest (or cheapest) issue to overcome with existing.

There is going to be quite the revival of funky roof lines coming in the next major round of house building though, which is going to make for some interesting (finally!!!) neighbourhoods.

There are many things I want that I can't have because of where I live. :( Even trying to buy an EV, there are only 2 dealers in province and both take weeks long pre-orders!

My roof needs re-shingling. It would be awesome to include a power roof, especially if it had an adjustable angle to the panels. Not an easy thing, given that it has to endure 100km/h prairie winds without becoming a sail!

It's funny that Righties get to pick and choose what technologies they like and those they hate... shouldn't they hate them all? [huh]
