Listening to talk radio on the weekend there is a rumour some young Canadian males may have been the victims of the Smiley Face Killers, which is believed to be a network of killers murdering young, athletic college students in northern states or what is referred to sometimes as the I-94 corridor...

The young males are often last seen at a bar. Later their bodies are found floating in a body of water with most often a 'smiley face' drawn onto a nearby surface (rock, tree, shore, etc)...

Investigators believe victims may number somewhere between 40-80 victims... What is more creepy, is most of the bodies upon investigation are believed to have been in the water for a considerable shorter period of time then they were murdered... one victim was beleeved to have been murdered something like 40 days ago, but the body was only in the river for 20 days! What was being done to these young men between the time of murder and being dumped into a river?

Any of a number of things.

However, serial attacks on young men are almost always the domain of a homosexual killer who's looking for someone to love him and they play these weird scenarios over and over hoping for someone to love them. Jeffery Dahmer was a good example of this.

At least the cops are publicising this. Announcing there's a serial killer is pretty unusual.

Not necessarily. Cops may release it so that people can take the necessary precautions. It's only if they don't want to startle the killer, but at this points startling him, or them, may cause mistakes.

As for the Homosexual aspect, have they had any signs of sexual trauma? It's focused on athletic college students, so this guy could be a giant nerd who gets picked on at school and is getting revenge, or is jealous of them, and has recruited people now. Because they thought it was suicide, I doubt it's sexually driven. Also, since it's a group, the profile is going to change. This is some scary ass shit.

That's why it's scary. Best thing the police can do is scour the internet for a lead, they have to be communicating somehow.
