"The CBC says it may have to sell some of its assets in order to cope with the economic downturn.
A spokesman says that could mean anything from unloading Radio 3 to putting a website up for sale.
CBC president Hubert Lacroix says he's committed to maintaining the public broadcaster's national role but says tight funding has left few options for the corporation.
Lacroix says he's asked for a meeting with Prime Minister Stephen Harper to plead for financial flexibility to cope with the current economy.
Lacroix says he spoke with the heritage minister on Wednesday about the corporation's dire position, and will meet with him next week.
He'd also consider buying more American programs, which are cheaper to produce than homegrown fare."
WTF we pay more for Canadian crap than American shows?
