When asked outside court how he'll approach shoplifters given the judge's decision, Chen said, "I would be careful."
Se he skated pretty close to the line.

Yep, it sure was. And frankly, I don't see much difference between being hogtied in a van and handcuffed in the back of a cruiser, in THIS kind of an instance.

Maybe the cops will get there a bit quicker to lock up thieves when this guy calls 911 next time. A good result and a sensible judgement.

Wow i really thought he was gonna get jail time. Real glad the judge wasn't a the usual idiot we have residing over cases.

Maybe the judge saw the media circus and thought better of being the usual judicial idiot the rest of us will get and made a popular decision, despite the Law Society of Upper Canada.
