First of all, I said nothing about you so don't give yourself too much importance... and you should know by now that I'm always dead serious, I never mock.

For the record, I'm not a fan of crazy politicians, including Cortez. But logic says that if Trump could get elected president, she could get elected too. 8O

Politics only exists for the shits and giggles it provides me. I know I'll never be disappointed now. :D

That was Brah.

2. Amazon was going to receive an incentive package of about $3bn in tax exemptions and some direct subsidies. In return the city and state would net about $27bn in sales tax, income tax, and payroll tax revenues. Perhaps that's a massive subsidy but it also came with a massive return on investment.

3. By helping to kill the deal AOC also killed the incentives that Amazon was offering and those included infrastructure upgrades, improvements to local schools, improvements to parks, and Amazon was offering to help improve local transit to offset the impact of 25,000 workers. All of those benefits left NYC with Amazon.

There was no proof that any of those benefits, including the promised jobs, would actually materialize and no guarantees or penalties for Amazon if they failed to materialize. Amazon however was demanding guaranteed tax breaks in exchange for their vague promises. Also the deal was already causing a spike in real estate speculation that drives up rent and home prices.

4. I do oppose subsidies and here you are bitching about the Republicans when not one single Republican had a voice in the New York City deal. Democrats were in control of both sides of the issue because Democrats own and operate both NYC and NYS.

Yeah so? I’m talking about YOUR reaction to this story

5. And while I oppose subsidies and would love to stick it in the eye of the Democrats I have to concede that the proposed Amazon deal was GOOD BUSINESS unlike every goddam subsidy that gets squandered on stadiums for organized sports teams whose majority of employees typically earn just minimum wage.

As per #2 and 3 above.

I once asked them to understand that the only reason socialism is gaining in popularity in certain segments is because of the capitalism that's being run by financial sector criminals causing so much life-long damage and impoverishment to entire generations. I sensed that they simply couldn't understand this at all and imagined that, at the mere suggestion of the current system not being "teh awesomez!" for a lot of people, they all did the same thing a dog does with cocking it's head to one side in total confusion when it hears or sees something it simply can't comprehend.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders leaving role as Trump’s press secretary

By Kerri Breen
Evening/Weekend Supervisor, Breaking News Global News

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, press secretary for U.S. President Donald Trump, is leaving her position.

Funny how the “greatest president in history” can’t seem to retain any employees and has what must be one of the worst staff turnover rates the country.

I wonder who will be his new Minister of Propaganda?

Heard yesterday: “Sanders is leaving? I’ll know it’s true when she holds a press briefing to deny it.”

:D

Heading to G-20, Trump Once Again Assails America’s Friends

OSAKA, Japan — President Trump, arriving in Japan on Thursday, opened his latest foreign trip much as he did his last one, lashing out at America’s allies, including his hosts, just before sitting down with them to talk through differences on issues like security and trade.

In the hours before and after leaving for an international summit meeting, Mr. Trump assailed Japan, Germany and India. He complained that under existing treaty provisions, if the United States were attacked, Japan would only “watch it on a Sony television.” He called Germany a security freeloader and chastised India for raising tariffs on American goods.

The choice of targets seemed directly tied to the president’s schedule of meetings on Friday. He is set to sit down with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan, the host of the annual Group of 20 gathering in Osaka, and then jointly with Mr. Abe and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India. Then he will meet separately with Mr. Modi. After that, he is scheduled to sit down with Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany.

By contrast, Mr. Trump said nothing critical about the fourth leader on his diplomatic schedule for Friday, President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia, whose government waged a systematic campaign to interfere in American elections in 2016 and has arrested two Americans on what critics consider false charges.

Nor did he say anything negative about his breakfast date for Saturday morning, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, who was just accused by the United Nations of having most likely orchestrated the murder and dismemberment of a Saudi journalist living in the United States.

The report details several potential violations of federal law or Border Patrol standards:

Two facilities inspected had not provided children access to hot meals until the week that auditors arrived. Some adults were only receiving bologna sandwiches, causing constipation and in some cases requiring medical attention.
Of 2,669 children detained by the Border Patrol in the region, 826, or 31 per cent, had been held there longer than 72 hours. More than 50 children under age 7 were waiting to be moved to long-term facilities, some of them for more than two weeks. In one photo, women and children appeared to be sleeping on the ground under Mylar (thermal) blankets.
Many adults hadn't showered despite having been held for as long as a month. Some were being given wet wipes to clean themselves.
