BeaverFever BeaverFever:

Isn’t it hilarious that the Trump worshippers keep insisting he has nothing to do with Russians operatives or Epstein completely ignoring that Trump continues to have all the the same associates and lawyers as those people? It takes a whole new level of self-brainwashing to blind yourself to something so obvious.

Too bad Johnnie Cochran, Robert Shapiro, and Robert Kardashian are all dead because Trump would most likely love to bask in the glory of the entire OJ Simpson Dream Team.

BartSimpson BartSimpson:
Tricks Tricks:
It doesn't matter why it was done, it was illegal.

It's illegal for a President to monitor his subordinates? Really? What law is that?

It's illegal to do it in the Ukraine. You know, where it happened. It's also a violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. Something the United States is a signatory of.

Contrary to American's beliefs, you can't do whatever the fuck you want in other people's countries.

Thanos Thanos:
Both Starr and Dershowitz got hired by Jeffrey Epstein to handle his initial case and got the billionaire pedo a sweetheart deal that saw him get no prison time despite the pimping and rape charges that were laid against him.

Why did Trump do this? He may not be as mired in Epstein problems as some claim but, either way, he spent too much time with the guy and the last thing he should be doing is reminding people of his own unsavoury reputation around young women. When pressed by Ari Melber, Dershowitz even tried to claim he was not exactly a member of Trump’s legal team. Starr, previously described as a lunatic by Trump, also has all those unfortunate quotes from the Clinton impeachment and his own neglect of a sex scandal at Baylor which forced his resignation:

Monica Lewinsky expressed an opinion on his appointment:

this is definitely an “are you fucking kidding me?” kinda day.

We live in an era when a Ukrainian fraudster has far more credibility than the American president:

The "why" is no more complex than Trump is a mega-asshole so he'll surround himself with those just like him in order to "get things done". That's what males of that type are always like - being successful is entirely dependent on how much of a total prick (if not a complete monster) they can be. As for the Epstein connection watch Trump turn it around if he takes heat for associating with Epstein's legal team and start up with the "Clintons killed Epstein! Bill ordered a hit on him in prison!". All his other insane conspiracy references and shout-outs have appeased his fans so invoking the "murder" of Epstein will too.

Ken Starr was also president of Baylor university in Texas when a rape scandal broke out due to the players on the football team attacking other students on multiple occasions. As is true to the way these things are handled at American colleges, Baylor first did absolutely nothing then resorted to the typically disgusting "they're good boys, they just got a little wild, don't want to wreck the lives of these fine young men over a minor mistake, the girls are all lying" canards. When it finally got too hot and the state was ready to step in they canned the coach and booted some of the players who did the assaults out of school. Starr quietly stepped down afterwards and took off with his tail between his legs, and never really addressed as to why that kind of thing took place under his tenure at the college. Only his politics matter, and that's why no one at all in the GOP gives a damn at all about Trump bringing him in as part of the defense.

Seeing as he's put the band back together maybe he'll trot out OJ Simpson for a few appearances on behalf of beleaguered Dear Leader. Why not? OJ was innocent and clearly set up for crimes he didn't commit, just like Trump's been.

Man with no brain (or spine, or heart, or balls, or even the vestige of a soul) but lots of bone spurs tells brain-injured soldiers that their wounds "aren't that bad":

https://www.motherjones.com/politics/20 ... -that-bad/

$1:
President Donald Trump downplayed the possible traumatic brain injuries suffered by nearly a dozen US troops earlier this month after Iran fired missiles at two military bases in Iraq. “I heard that they had headaches, and a couple of other things,” he told reporters at the World Economic Forum in Davos. “But I would say, and I can report, that it is not very serious.”

Last week, the Pentagon confirmed that 11 soldiers at Ain al-Asad air base in western Iraq had suffered concussions and were being screened for traumatic brain injury, contradicting Trump’s initial assessment following the attack that “no Americans were harmed.” Trump said Wednesday that he was told about those possible injuries “numerous days later” and reiterated his belief that the concussions were not very serious “relative to other injuries” he had seen. “I’ve seen people with no legs and with no arms,” he said. “I consider them to be really bad injuries.”

But that is not the experience of veterans, who regularly deal with the consequences of traumatic brain injury, or TBI, suffered during combat, many of which can go unreported. “TBI is the signature wound of today’s wars,” a Center for a New American Security report found in 2018. “While a relatively low-level concern at the start of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, by 2007 head injuries exceeded chest or abdominal injuries as those most treated by the U.S. military.” As Trump somewhat mockingly noted, headaches are a component of TBI, but dizziness, memory loss, and irritability are also common symptoms.

More than 408,000 service members have been diagnosed with a serious brain injury and the actual number of personnel affected is probably much higher, the Military Times reported. Part of the problem is a stigma among service members against reporting head injuries, but the military itself also has not always rigorously tested for them. “Before June 2010, TBI screening was not routinely implemented in Afghanistan or Iraq, and there were no standardized provisions for recurrent TBI prevention or treatment,” a 2017 study found. “Return-to-duty decisions were generally left to line commanders, not medical providers. Thus, many injuries were not immediately reported.”

Ummm, yeah. Sure thing, doc.

Trump supporters don’t really care if Trump is corrupt or incompetent. You can tell by the way they keep changing their arguments and so-called facts around. He’s on THEIR leader, That’s all that matters. The leader must be worshipped and obeyed always.

I'm not sure if that is a charge that would stick in the U.S. More like the world court in the Hogue (sp?).

But thanks you given me something to think on and do a little research about. [B-o]

Right-wingers are terrible on law & order and terrible on military issues of any sort. They'll keep getting away with it though because the myth they injected into the American consciousness, that only they are "tough" and the Dems will always surrender to enemies/criminals, is too strong to ever go away.
