Here is one of Trump's impeachment attorneys responding to the Democrat impeachment argument and the notable thing from this weekend is that MSNBC, CNN, ABC, and CBS all had their reporters acknowledging that these attorneys have done a great job defending the President.
In short, the impeachment case has now failed.

$1: Bolton bombshell undercuts Trump impeachment defence
Democrats demanding new witnesses in Donald Trump's impeachment trial are seizing on a report that the U.S. President ordered former national security adviser John Bolton to keep military aid to Ukraine frozen in a bid to coerce political favours.
The revelation, first reported by the New York Times, heaped new pressure on a handful of Republican senators who may be interested in hearing testimony from Bolton and other witnesses in a process that could significantly delay Trump's hopes for a swift acquittal as soon as this week. A source with direct knowledge of the manuscript told CNN the Times' account of Bolton's account of the Ukraine aid hold discussion with Trump is accurate.

$1: Dinner download: Tape surfaces of Trump calling for Ukrainian ambassador’s firing
Halfway through a dinner at the Trump Hotel, U.S. President Donald Trump can be heard giving the order to remove the U.S ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, according to a video that surfaced on Saturday.
The video, obtained by Reuters from Lev Parnas’ attorney Joseph Bondy, begins with Trump posing for photos then entering a room with a table set for 15 including a close-up of the president’s place setting.
The video from April 2018 lasts 83 minutes and most of it shows no images of the participants as the camera was pointed at the ceiling. Excerpts of the taped encounter were published on Friday by ABC News.
Halfway through the recording, after one of the participants suggests Yovanovitch is a problem, Trump’s voice can be heard saying “Get rid of her! Get her out tomorrow. I don’t care. Get her out tomorrow. Take her out. Okay? Do it.”
. . .
After the ABC report on Friday, Parnas found a digital recording of the comments, Bondy said, and sent it to the House Intelligence Committee, which is continuing to investigate Trump’s conduct.
“I was particularly gratified to see that everything Mr. Parnas has been stating about that event was true,” Bondy said, referring to the April 30, 2018 dinner. “It is yet another example of Mr. Parnas’ version of events being corroborated by evidence in the form of recordings, emails, text messages.”

I have no problem with him firing an ambassador. It's the smear campaign against her that pisses me off.
Not the worst thing we've heard trump say on tape anyway.

https://www.ctvnews.ca/world/bolton-bom ... -1.4784928Right. Let's see the actual book before we get excited. The left has a hideous track record of making shit up lately and then getting shoved up their asses when it's unsubstantiated.

Oh, because the trial will be over by then . . .

Not the worst thing we've heard trump say on tape anyway. This. It's his prerogative to fire an Ambassador. But why did it take him a year?

Why is it after they, Democrats, said they had the evidence to impeach him seem to want to add more and more AFTER they did such a top notch job of investigating.

It's not a lib-left thing if it was Bolton and his own lawyers who dropped the leak. Have to think about this from a different angle. Bolton is a warmonger who thinks every single problem can be solved by dropping bombs on someone, and even HE thinks that Trump's behaviour and lack of any ethics whatsoever is too reckless. It's like the worst criminal in a prison being appalled when someone even worse than he is arrives at the joint to start doing time.

Exactly. Who's interested in "evidence" and "facts" anyway?

And they are unsubstantiated and AFTER the investigation. Why did they not come to light then. It's not like Bolton didn't know the investigation was going on. It's just not Trump being impeached thing. I see it to often in courts of law. OH look we have our case all set lets go to trial, mid way into the trial ohhh we found more stuff. If you have completed your investigation WHY are you finding new things. In something this big you need to come forward with all material BEFORE the trial begins. Some one is playing fast and lose with evidence. At least IMO.

And they are unsubstantiated and AFTER the investigation. Why did they not come to light then. It's not like Bolton didn't know the investigation was going on. Bolton has no requirement to clear his book past the House. Parnas has been doing document dumps since Christmas, after the trial finished. (you should really look at those!) stratos stratos: It's just not Trump being impeached thing. Sometimes evidence appears late. Sometimes on purpose, sometimes not. But the point being, during the trial there were current and former Ambassadors testifying Trump did it. He held up Congressionally approved funds to Ukraine and demanded political favours in return. And ever since, the Republicans have been trying to spin it any way they can, but it doesn't change fact.

stratos stratos: And they are unsubstantiated and AFTER the investigation. Why did they not come to light then. It's not like Bolton didn't know the investigation was going on. Trump and Moscow Mitch have been openly blocking any current and former regime staffers from talking to investigators or testifying under oath. And it's within the rights of both the defense and the prosecution to submit testimony/evidence after proceedings have started. Until either side rests their case that option remains open until proceedings have officially concluded and it's sent to the jury/judge for a decision.

DrCaleb DrCaleb: It's (Trump's) prerogative to fire an Ambassador. But why did it take him a year? Likely because he wasn't conducting too much business through the State Department and instead was conducting most of US-Ukraine policy through the Defense Department and the Commerce Department. The embassy and the ambassador weren't on his radar screen until she started objecting to the US sending lethal aid to the Ukrainian military. To be fair to Obama, he did not send lethal aid to Ukraine because the Ukrainians had three very capable weapons factories. All three have now been destroyed by Russian saboteurs thus the US military aid is now needed.
