Yeah sure sure. And they have Saddams WMD too right? It wouldnt be a proper Republican administration without a staged military incident or war under false pretences.

Iran did 9/11! Iran does all the terrorism everywhere and always has! Good old "he who controls the present controls the past" in action right in front of us!

As much as I don't like Iran....(sometimes pain in ass for Pakistanis).....truth needs to be told.

Iran was never a threat to US.....However, Iran does pose a challenge for that tiny country located in Middle East who never publicly admitted that she has nukes but she does have it.

All middle eastern countries, are now in dire shape or under influence except Iran....

So, obviously Iran is problem...

Another war in my region will piss us off and very likely Pakistanis are going to stand against any possible attack on Iran

Deploying an Aircraft carrier doesn’t mean it’s all out War, it’s a sign of strength and warning to Iran which is the only thing they understand.

Albeit its a small challenge. Iran has no nuke, I'm sure if Iran were to pull some shit, this tiny unnamed nation would share their nukes with Iran.

But getting serious for a sec, if you could see the article (which you can't because Beave posted the link incorrectly) you'd see this.

Quote:
Asked about “escalatory actions,” Pompeo replied, “I don’t want to talk about what underlays it, but make no mistake, we have good reason to want to communicate clearly about how the Iranians should understand how we will respond to actions they may take.”

Asked if the Iranian action were related to the deadly events in Gaza and Israel — militants fired rockets into Israel on Sunday and Israel responded with airstrikes — Pompeo said, “It is separate from that.”

https://globalnews.ca/news/5245100/us-a ... tack-iran/

Actually, the first thing I thought was the warning to Iran was a result of those Syrian military bases Iran and their Hezbollah proxy keep trying to set up in Syria. The ones that Israel keeps blowing up.

But for now all they'll tell us is the warning to Iran is not a result of the missile attacks from Gaza that Iran is financing and supplying.

Does anybody remember that one that happened in the closing days of the Obama administration where the 2 navy boats strayed into Iranian waters and crew were captured.

The telling of that old tale may have some clues as to the sorts of things that may have been escalating to the point the current administration thinks Iran needs a warning:

Quote:
Third, defense officials tell Fox News the Navy had become too complacent with the its treatment by Iranian forces in the months leading up to the January capture.

“The story here is these guys had gotten so used to Iranians doing stupid s---, having weapons pointed at them all the time, they didn’t know they were being captured until the Iranians boarded their boats,” one defense official said describing the lack of situational awareness by the Navy crew. “They messed up pretty bad.”

It was not immediately clear whether Richardson would announce punishments during the release of his report or a short time later. Other sailors aboard the two ships likely face disciplinary action as well, but Navy officials have refused to disclose the number.

The detention of the U.S. sailors created an uproar on Capitol Hill as Iran released a videotaped apology from the Navy lieutenant. Many in the military questioned whether the Code of Conduct, which forbids any captured American troops from making such statements, was violated. Under terms of the Code, American service members are required to give only a name, rank, service number and date of birth to captors.

Other video clips showing some of the 10 sailors crying sparked additional international outrage. Secretary of State John Kerry had thanked the Iranians for their treatment of the Navy sailors before the video showing the apology and crying was released.

Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei awarded medals to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard crew who detained the American sailors. In February, a reenactment of the sailors' capture was displayed during parades around Iran celebrating the 1979 Iranian Revolution.

On the same day the Navy sailors were taken captive, Iran flew a drone over the USS Harry S Truman in the Persian Gulf. And, when the aircraft carrier sailed past the Strait of Hormuz in late December, a group of Iranian missile boats fired unguided rockets only 1,500 yards away, in a move the Navy called “highly provocative.”

Yes yes. Let's all pretend the US didn't provide Iraq with chemical weapons capability during the Iran/Iraq War. Besides, it's amazing what you WON'T learn listening to CNN. In fact, roughly 2500 chemical warheads were uncovered. Albeit they were in pretty rough shape and were likely more dangerous to anyone trying to use them than to any intended targets.

On top of that, a former Iraqi Air Force general, whose name escapes me after all these years, stated that they sent their chem shit to Syria under the guise of humanitarian aid. At that time Syria had been rocked by a rather large earthquake. Iraq stripped down a bunch of civilian 737s and loaded them up with the ingredients and apparatus used to make chemical weapons and flew them to Syria. All thanks to Hans Blix who gave the Iraqis time to get away with it.

Umm, yeah they do have.

What they don't have, is one small enough to put on an ICBM,
and an ICBM that can travel fast enough to not get shot down on
the way to that little country.
