  And where's he going to get support?

Same place they always get support, from the people who don't come out and vote for the alternative because the alternative has the personality of wet kleenex.

But...but... they can go back to puking up another clearly unconstitutional Law & Order Bill every 24 hours. Or turning Parliament into a case by case Parole Board hearing.
Lots of people who think moving the Embassy to Jerusalem is far more important than holding our ground on a Trade talks!

Canada has not included the United States in an upcoming meeting aimed at saving the international trading system because it doesn’t share the views of the 13 invited countries, says the new Canadian trade minister.

Good. This gives President Trump justification to pull out of the WTO and stop sending the WTO anymore US funding.

Also, this shit works both ways so don't bitch when the US doesn't waste time inviting anyone from the Trudeau regime to much of anything in the future.

I’m sure the US was well aware of this planned meeting a long time ago and probably signaled their lack of interest in advance. I doubt they’re offended or upset so the sulking is unwarranted.

ROTFL

Ya, because the UN has such vast power to overrule local laws, and a huge military with which to enforce their will.

Do you guys even think before you post anymore?

Since Mulroney, we have had a broad consensus in this country that free trade is, overall, a good thing for the economy. Trump takes a different view on trade, one that impinges on our sovereignty BTW, so it makes sense to start talking with like-minded governments first.

Need I dig up liberal quotes on this board to prove that the left bows to the will of the UN? You know like how we are bound to give "due process" to those crossing our border illegally on account of some UN treaty signed in 1950.

You can misquote anyone you want to prove any opinion you want.

What you can't change is the reason the UNHCR Agreement on Refugees was signed in 1951 and amended an 1967. It was to provide a worldwide framework for the treatment of displaced peoples, so that things like the Jewish Refugees from Nazi Germany who were denied entry pretty much everywhere they went; would never happen again.

No one 'surrenders' their sovereignty to the UN. We make international agreements which we all will abide by, in our own mutual interest. And unlike some countries, we live up to our agreements because our self respect demands we do.

Sure.
It's not like the UN will make any nation change it's laws or something, right ?

France's niqab ban 'violates' human rights, UN declares as it demands compensation for women 'confined at home and marginalised'

U.N. Human Rights Committee said on Tuesday it would review French laws
The Committee said the ban harmed their right to manifest their religious beliefs
The country now has 180 days to report back and say what action it will take
France has an international obligation to comply with committee 'in good faith'

France signed on to those charters of their own free will. The UN is just asking that they live up to their word.

 one can always withdraw from the UN.
