How about as few as zero each? Three thousand nuclear warheads is still enough to wipe out life on this planet more than once.

Isn't the real issue with nuclear weapons more about WHO has them not how many you have? It only takes a hand full, let alone 1,500 each to really cripple a country. I would be more worried about North Korea having one, then Russia having 2,000. Russia is a rational nation and knows the consequences of a nuclear war, where as North Korea is cat shit crazy and probably just wants to make a name in the world stage or sell to Iran, or possibly a terrorist organization (provided they can work up the capital required). Still probably a plus on the whole, but how come every time a serious issue comes up, it is addressed with complete BS?

keep dreaming.

1500 each isnt much compared to the 70's and 80's, but zero ?
Aint gonna happen.

Still, fewer nukes with fewer chances to have one screw up
is ok.

Very well said, Russia has a track record of having nukes without using them, even though they have been in some nasty conflicts. The administration in DPRK has a problem listening to rules or conventional wisdom for that matter.

As for the reduction, as stated earlier, less nuke = less chances for accidents, and less chances for one to 'go missing'
