"Paranoia" is a reletive term. The hurricane researcher who had the program on History Channel about why New Orleans was not prepared for a Class 3 (let alone Class 5) hurricane was denounced as 'paranoid'. Then Katrina hit and proved him right.

Myself, I'm adequately prepared for a number of things but not overly prepared for any one thing. In general, I focus on flood preparedness because I live in a notorious flood zone. I also have secured my home for a potential earthquake and have gone to the 'extreme' of upgrading the framing in my home when we had the siding and roof replaced.

I'm not any more worried about fire than anyone else.

I'm armed to the teeth, but honestly that's more of a hobby than me being prepared for zombies or anything. Were I actually paranoid I have a very good idea of what to obtain (and where) to be able to hold off a brigade and a couple air assaults. Proof, to myself, that I am not paranoid is the acute absence of an anti-armor and anti-air capability in my gun safe.

I do not recall the name of the agreement, but the US Air Force does maintain nuclear weapons that can be released to the CF on the joint order of the President and the PM. It goes back to Canada giving over the remainder of their store of nukes to the US back in the 1970's. Essentially, it's like Canada has on deposit with the US a few nukes and can ask for them back someday.

So while Canada may not have any nukes Canada certainly has access to them and, when Canada is on rotation in command of NORAD, Canada is in practical control of the US nuclear arsenal.

I didn't say anything about nuclear weapons, I said nuclear-POWERED submarines. They can still be armed with conventional weapons. At least that would give us the capability to patrol our borders, ALL of them. And yes, we do have an aggressive neighbour, to our north. (Russia) And they do have a history of invading countries.

I seriously doubt the US will release those weapons if they know
you are the target.
