Can't we just put a sign on a rock and call it a day?

We have a bunch of Revolutionary War monuments down here. Can we call them memorials to the victims of Monarchism?

You had the war to go with it. Kind of dumb to put a memorial in Canada to something that didn't happen here.

Like the National Holocaust Monument in Ottawa, especially considering "we" didn't want the European Jews coming here after the war?

Do we say "Victims of Fascism"? Not often. Almost never bring up the ideology. We say "Nazi Germany" and that's that.

The 'memorial' looks really cool though. Might have to coat it in cameras though, or give the spot a curfew and post guards, because that looks like a spraypainter's wetdream.

If anti-fascists wanted a memorial so obtuse, I doubt it'd be allowed to happen at all. A museum to the holocaust? Sure. Some giant park coated in concrete dedicated against an ideology though? If it's happened, it's nowhere near the Supreme Court in our capital city, I'm guessing.

There's a lot of Ukrainian descendants in Canada. As Ukrainians were the primary victims of the first wave of Russian Communist viciousness, with upwards of ten million of them being killed in the Holodomor and then in the subsequent deportations to Siberia, it makes emotional sense for such a memorial to be built in Canada. It's understandable that Communists and Communist apologists have a problem with this. They've been making excuses for the mass murderers for a hundred years and aren't going to stop doing it any time soon. Still, some kind of memorial is needed somewhere. It's not like they'd have the guts to put one up outside the UN building, no matter how much it would belong there.

Part of freedom means selling out your remaining values to ensure that Wal Mart has lots of Chinese-made items on their shelves. Just don't buy any of their pet food though. Image

Reality is a satire of itself.
