Bullshit. If he didn't have the gun, he wouldn't have killed her.

He could have stabbed her, beaten her to death, run her over with a car, used a baseball bat, a hammer (very popular murder weapon, by the way!), used a chain saw, beaten her with a rock, poisoned her, etc.

People are very resourceful.

Her odds of survival with any of those are better thsn vs a gun which is why armies fight with firearms not baseball bats and anyway the killer probably wouldn't have gotten both of them and wounded a third without use of a firearm.

Plus it's hard to get a car up that second floor staircase where she was doing the interview. If he brung a chainsaw, probably they would have noticed him sooner.

Oh, this is the part where we pretend a shooting incident would have happened even if there weren't Guns available ?

Well in this case it's true, I read that it was a last minute decision to take a handgun, he originally wanted to charge a crowd with a 600 lb sworfish strapped to the hood of his car, luckily for everyone, the price of swordfish is close to $40/kg so all he could afford is a semi automatic handgun. Whew. Dodged that bullet, err, so to speak.

Yep. and the hardware store was out of hammers and he couldn't find any decent rocks, so he thought, hey, maybe I should use this gun I bought instead.

Yes, otherwise he would've just thrown knives at them , which I'm told is just as effective as gunfire.

OJ Simpson used a knife taking two lives which was just as effective.

OJ sustained injuries, so no, not as effective.
