American entitlement culture has many facets, and when he didn't get what he thought he was entitled to, he found fame in a different way.

The perp was obviously mentally ill.

Scary thing is I know someone who similarly started to imagine coworkers were conspiring against them and made all sorts of allegations about imaginary workplace bullying that they genuinely believed to be real. And as a result this person has spent most of the past 10 years unemployed and several police encounters and a few arrests fo things like email harassment and uttering death threats, despite this person being very highly educated. A few weeks in the mental health wing has finally sorted them out and today you would never know there had ever been anything wrong with them.

I shudder to think how they would've ended up had they lived south of the border. Maybe a shooter like this guy if it would have been so easy to get a gun, or dead at the hands of police,or serving some decade long mandatory minimum for some trifling offence.

Look, the war on this issue is lost and the bad guys won. As long as it doesn't happen in Canada I'm not going to get wound up by the internal pathologies of Americans. Their country, their rules, their fantasy-land "right" to shoot each other by the thousands every year for the rest of forever if this is what they find entertaining to do. If a class full of toddlers getting turned into hamburger a few years back wasn't enough to change their minds on this behaviour then no other shooting incident will either. It's not our problem to fix. If Americans don't care anymore, or have been terrorized into some kind of numb compliance, then why in the hell should anyone else?
