The New Green Deal is akin to the LEAP manifesto. It's total lunacy.

It's lunacy for the left if they try to enact it.

It's lunacy for anyone who believes in it.

Take a giant turd, wrap it in a rainbow and sprinkle it with fairy dust and there you have the Green New Deal.

Mathusians like that bug-eyed, horse-faced c*nt AOC always think that 'mass death' is a FEATURE of their ideas and not a drawback.

And, of course, you can always spot the leftist leaders in countries that are suffering from socialist-induced famine because they're the fat ones.

It's a shockvertising campaign.

I am not a fan, but the effectiveness of shock advertising has not been lost on politicians.

It's a more aggressive form of controversial advertising, which is why these quotes are always found with it;

$1:
Ocasio-Cortez likely knows this. She addressed the plan's haters at an event in New York.

"I just introduced the Green New Deal two weeks ago and it's creating all this conversation," she said in an interview with Reshma Saujani, the founder and CEO of Girls Who Code. "Why? Because no one else has even tried."

The proposal may not address every detail, she conceded, but there's something to be said for merely trying.

What some are taking as a plan is really a long term goals list. The short term plan is most likely to sway the discourse, in the hopes of making some goals easier to achieve in the near future.

What she's done is she's forced the Democrat Party to admit that it's been taken over by the Socialists.

She's also validated the long-held opinions of many on the right that the Democrats were the party of incremental Marxism.

Only if you equate advocating for expanded health care and environmental protection as "marxism". Everywhere else in the world it's called society.

And also, I get mod edited for calling Lindsay Graham a queen but this is still acceptable?

Oh So much toxic right wing hatred!

Big corporations and big polluters have been running the planet and western society into the shitter for decades and their cronies in the Republican Party just want to bury their heads in the sand and just go along for the rigde into the shitter. I’ll add to that they’ve been fully appeased by so-called centrists like the Clintons and Paul Martin Liberals.

The original New Deal was the government “social engineering” project that first started the transformation of America from a nation of mostly subsistence farmers and Dickensian urban slum dwellers into the advanced economy we can recognize today. It was directly followed by another unprecedented massive government spending project known as World War 2 which transformed the US into an economic powerhouse the world had never before seen and drastically transformed the daily lives and routines and even the core values of average citizens.

Daily life in the time before the original New Deal would be unrecognizable to most Americans today. Huge sections of society lived without basic public sanitation, electricity, or indoor plumbing. It was a common occurrence for diseases virtually unheard of today to kill and disable children in a typical family so households had 6,8,10 or more children in part to hedge against the risk and also to provide the additional labour needed to maintain a single household. Households relied on clothes they made or mended themselves and relied on backyard or rooftop vegetable ardens and chicken coops for a significant portion of their daily diet. There was relatively very little in the way of building codes or safety standards and government provided relatively few services to the general public. Life expectancy for the average American man in 1930 was only age 58.

The New Deal began the dramatic transformation into the way of life we can still recognize today. At no time during the New Deal era did the US risk becoming a socialist state like today’s China, although the established Right wing interests of the day, many of whom were admirers of Hitler’s Germany, certainly tried to make that claim.

So a transformative project like Green New Deal is technically possible and has happened before in America’s history. That said, I don’t think it’ll ever occur in today’s political climate. We live in an age now where Corporations are collectively more powerful than governments and will never allow it to happen, except in percerted and corrupted ways that provide them more control. I don’t think this trajectory we’re on is reversible, just as the fall of Rome gave way to rule by feudal lords of the Dark Ages, we too are at the end of a brief golden era and in the years and decades to come the corporations will increasingly rule over our daily lives as governments cloistered in their increasingly distant capitals become increasingly powerless, incompetent, and irrelevant.

But that would be misgendering. I'm hearing that's against one of Justin's new laws. Jordan Peterson told me it is.

I wonder if I'm allowed to call AOC, Momo. :D
