Same old, same old.

Somebody or some thing stirs up Palestinians. They start killing Israelis. Israelis counter-attack. Palestinians suffer ass kickings. A few die.

Breast-beating for the UN. Pallywood for the international media. Everybody eats it up. Jew hate.

It's cooked up like soup.

This time it started with the Temple Mount/Al Aqsa mosque thing.

Some of us have been watching it develop for some time now. It didn't just happen all of a sudden.

This latest conflict on the Mount has been building in strength for months. Now they're fighting.

That's simple. Israel is being ignored because Syria is ripping itself to pieces with a big power standoff evolving in the middle of the war. Israel is a mere flyspeck until some Russian cruise missile *accudentally" lands in Israel, somwhere. If the response is typically fierce, there will be a major War there in no time.
It is interesting, seeing how Israel's military power has grown over the years and how Russia's has corroded, that the Israelis are capable now of defeating the Russians in a big way. The Russian nuclear threat sure loses its clout.

There's actually a quasi-friendly relationship between Russia and Israel. There's no doubt assurances been made that Russia won't allow Assad to use the cover of the fight against ISIS to attack Israel. Israel will probably be patient with overflights or even an errant missile in the same way they stayed out of the Gulf War when Saddam was launching Scuds at them.

Israel is really a Russian colony as big chunks of their population are expat from Russia. They should still be wary of them, though.

Another interesting twist to all of this is if ISIS works their way to "Palestine", as they have no interest in any existing governments, only their Caliphate. They will sweep aide the Palestinian authority, Hamas and Hezbollah presumably ... and Lebanon ...and Jordan ..

In case you haven't noticed, Israel is the one place ISIS won't go near.
Funny, you would think the complete opposite.
I wonder why that is.

Hopefully the Israelis will just shoot any attacker they can find.

That's true, but there is this thing the mainstream media doesn't seem to anxious to tell us about.

ISIS and ISIS friendly organizations are in Gaza and the Sinai, and there's rumors of them starting to set up shop even in the West Bank.

That's another reason you can't be talking 2 state solution just yet. Having ISIS as neighbors on a border could never be tolerable. And if they attack, the buffer zone is just good military sense.

Israel has become an ally of Russia's because Putin's smart enough to know he needs their support for his plans in Syria.

A buffer zone full of settlements of your own people is about as idiotic a concept as there is. Unless of course you're willing to sacrifice your own people as the buffer. It would make much more sense to militarily occupy these zones, become the occupying govt, but keep your people out of it.

When your neighbours have at one time or another declared they are going to drive you into the sea, every citizen has to be prepared to defend themselves and theirs. The wife's relatives in Israel have all served, and are ready to serve again....even those who are grandparents.
