Throughout its history Canada has faced two reoccurring perils -- the danger of assimilation into our powerful southern neighbour and the threat of internal breakup.
In my view, this is an important election that we are involved in today. There are serious dangers, I think, for our country. One of the big winners in this election is going to be the separatist movement in the province of Quebec.
In triggering an election at this time, both Mr. Harper and Mr. Layton were prepared to play with the fires of Quebec separatism in an attempt to increase their own positions in the House of Commons. It is a dangerous and a short-sighted effort that could hurt our country badly and give a powerful momentum to those working very hard to take our country apart.
If Mr. Harper wins a minority government, he will be governing with the support of the Bloc, a party whose primary aim, whose number one platform position, is to take Quebec out of Canada. It is not hard to see what the quid pro quo will be. Mr. Harper has said openly that he is prepared to weaken the national government -- the only institution that speaks for all Canadians -- and hand out more of its powers to the provinces. Well, the Bloc will certainly be right there with him on that.
Link
[Proofreader's note: this article was edited for spelling and typos on January 17, 2006]

David Orchard is someone who can speak with authority on the
meaning of Stephen Harper, Peter MacKay, and the Unholy
Alliance those two men hatched out of their betrayal of so many of
their own colleagues.

Belinda Stronach is another person who can tell us about the
SHarper Conservatives.

He sure can speak with authority, not just on how dirty the party structure can be but is to day. You see the actions that took place between Harper, Orchard and MacKay are typical slimy the elements found in all parties.

Down in Nova Scotia right now, the Nova Scotia Progressive Conservative Party are going through a deal that is just as dirty, Neil LeBlanc has is going into a leadership race with just one delegate and he is very popular with many in that party. The other two former insurance CEO for Maritime Life and Cape Breton slim bucket Rodney MacDonald connived and contrives some how and managed to get the other 39 between them.. More dirty party tricks ( another David orchard scam being pulled off) and this is why we get corrupt governing parties.

Stephen Harper:

Conservatives take big lead: polls
16 January, 2006
By David Ljunggren Mon Jan 16, 8:17 AM ET

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - The opposition Conservatives have taken a huge lead over the ruling Liberals and will have little trouble winning the January 23 election, two new polls showed on Monday.

The Strategic Counsel poll for CTV and the Globe and Mail newspaper put support for the Conservatives at 40 percent, with the Liberals far behind at 27 percent.

The data shows that if the election were held now, the Liberals would be out of office after 12 years in power. The only question would be whether the Conservatives won a majority or a minority of the 308 seats in Parliament.

"It‘s a Tory (Conservative) juggernaut," the Strategic Counsel‘s Tim Woolstencroft told CTV.

Liberal thieves and liars don't speak for me, nor does the morally bankrupt NDP.

The Conservatives have a good platform and a sound outlook in general, let's hope they win the election.

Of the three parties Dave Ruston which one has never been involved in corruption? Come on Dave give me one!

The party system should be done away with, it is a very abusive process and lacks creditability.. it has less than 2% of the voting population as card carrying members..this is why the party system can get away with corruption.. it is a dictatorship.

I hope you are not going to tell me that the NDP are cleaner that the Liberal or Conservatives are you.

ATTENTION !!!!

Is Harper and the Conservatives connected to the scam by the neo-cons Jack Abramoff, has the conservative machine been sponsered by the american government through this casino racket, it might be , could be, someone please check the sources of the Harper conservative campaign donations

Laundering Casino Cash For NeoCon Politicians
By: Wayne Madsen
What investigators are quickly discovering is a global Abramoff network involving Russian-Israeli criminal syndicates that were involved in laundering money through Sun Cruz casino boats in Florida, casinos on Indian tribal lands in the United States, West Bank of Palestine, the Greek isle of Patroclos (which involved Israeli land developer David Appel and Gilad Sharon), a Sun Cruz casino ship in Saipan, an Internet gambling and lottery venture in Guam, and casinos in the Philippines, Sharm el Sheikh in the Sinai, pachinko slot machines and casinos in Japan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Canada, Virgin Islands, South Africa, and Abramoff's hometown of Atlantic City, New Jersey
The pattern that is emerging is that Abramoff and his criminal associates not only used various casinos around the world to enrich themselves but also used them to launder money into right-wing/neo-con political campaign coffers in the United States, Israel, and other countries. Prominent recipients included Tom DeLay's Political Action Committees and Netanyahu's allies in the settler's movement.

Former Cheney security aide, Leandro Aragoncillo, an ex-Marine who was arrested while working for the FBI in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, is tied to Michael Ray Aquino and former Philippine President Joseph Estrada. Aquino and Estrada, who were working with Aragoncillo in transmitting classified documents on Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo from Cheney's office to Estrada in order to help in his bid to oust Macapagal-Arroyo from office, are also linked to Abramoff. A return of Estrada to power in Manila would have not only benefit Abramoff's casino deals in the Philippines but would have returned to country to the pro-U.S. camp in Iraq and other military initiatives.

Having failed to unseat Macapagal-Arroyo in the Philippines with the assistance of Abramoff's confederates, Cheney's shadow foreign policy is now directed at assuring a Netanyahu win in Israel.
January 12, 2006 — Informed intelligence sources have informed this editor that he has, since October 2005, been under an active federal criminal investigation as part of the Bush administration's probe of leaks about illegal NSA surveillance of U.S. citizens.

To reiterate what I've stated before: I refuse to cede my First Amendment rights and will not cooperate with ANY grand jury asking questions about sources and I will refuse to turn over notebooks or other materials to any investigators, warrant or not. I'm willing to become a political prisoner rather than succumb to the fascist thugs in the Bush administration. WMR is working on a number of investigations involving The Carlyle Group, the Fellowship Foundation, and illegal surveillance. We will continue to publish until the Bush administration makes their move to shut us down. Again, your support has helped us to gain enough of a media presence to make the Bush administration nervous.

January 11, 2006 — In a speech yesterday to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Washington, President Bush decried as "irresponsible the partisan critics who claim that we acted in Iraq because of oil or because of Israel or because we misled the American people." Mr. Bush, this web site has written and offered proof that all three influences resulted in your decision to invade and occupy Iraq, i.e., oil, Israeli expansionists, and the neo-con disinformation and forgery machine. Mr. Bush, your authority to determine what news and commentary is responsible and what isn't concerning Iraq or any other subject is null and void in this small corner of cyberspace.
I'm so sick of hearing this crap about David Orchard and how he got screwed over by MacKay. You know what, Peter did the right thing. Orchard was a left-wing troublemaker who wanted to turn the PC's into an NDP with a more electable name. Screw him and his anti-American bigotry.

Do you know what you call someone who kills a dragon while its back is turned? A dragon-slayer.

Well if what you are saying were to be true..this only adds to my reason why not to vote in this election.. political parties and crime go hand in hand.

So who is really running our Canadian "government" ?

If the Liberals get elected the Supreme Court will speak for Canada apparently - and only the Supreme Court.

They've done such wonderful stuff lately - orgies are approved and because the Liberals blocked raising the age of consent from 14 years old, a person could rent a place at the local plaza and charge admission.

The Supremes also say it's perfectly legal to masturbate in front of your open window while kids are watching you - perhaps more Canadian men should exercise their Liberal rights.

1 BC Conservative candidate has been internally
sacked for alcohol smuggling (which Harper
falsely claimed was "not a criminal matter").
Another ALBERTA Conservative candidate was sacked for
uttering Western Seperatist rhetoric, but
the story was greatly supressed by the media.

That's 2, and there are likely more.Harper's
entourage is about as transparent as their
ideal clan of deceptive-manipulative
Neo-Fascists : Bush,Cheney,Rove and Rumsfeld.

Stronach left a party and a romance because
she saw the inner monster of the Neo-Con
Ultra-Right, including Anti-Canadian sentiment,
Pro-Seperatist (Western AND Quebec) sentiment,
blindly Pro-American sentiment, social
intolerance and mandatory conformitism
via morality laws and harsh penalties for
non-violent 'distasteful' behaviour,
chauvinism, alcohol use, repression,
supression, corporate worship, profits
over people, military worship, fusion
of state and religion, fiscal
imbalance leading to great debt (like Bush-Clan),
cutting social programs, aiding
the sale of Canadian natural resources,
allowing American agents of all kinds
to permeate Canadian soil, etc., etc., etc.

The Conservative budget was basically
TRASHED by their own appraiser !
The enigmatic funding issues are still
not being addressed.

Pro-Canada Ratings 1 to 100 :
------------------------------

Paul Martin : 75% Paul has been
a nervous waffler who seems passionate
about Canada, but helps create an environment
where Quebec seperatism escalates, the Americanization
of our culture, companies, resources and
social environment increase via concealed
deep integration.

Stephen Harper : 15% "Canada is a 3rd rate
welfare state.... You Republicans
are a light of inspiration for all
Canadians and the entire world... we
should march shoulder to shoulder with the
Americans into Iraq..."

Jack Layton : 95% He's a nationalist,
a unifier, Pro-French, Pro-Canadian.

Jim Harris : (Green Party) : 90% He's
fiscally conservative, socially liberal,
and loves the Canadian environment
as much as Suzuki.
