Anybody else get Martin's latest installment in the Song of Fire and Ice series yet? For the life of me, I can't figure out why he seems to be repeating stuff that was covered in the last book. When I started reading it, it was sort of a WTF moment. Not going to give any of the actual story away but those of you reading it or listening to it(I'm doing both, but I'm not impressed by the reader they picked) will understand. It took him six years to get the second half out, so you'd think he'd of done a better job editing. I enjoy the story, but this detracts from my enjoyment. I'd like your take on it.

I've noticed that in the previous books as well. I think he does it as a "previously on..." sort of thing for those who need a refresher.

I have a difficult time finding books that hold my attention. This series is phenomenal. Martin is very good at creating visuals. His descriptions create pictures in my mind, sometimes horrifying and many times beautiful. The characters are well developed. I am always thirsty to find out how my favorite characters are doing. In short, a great series worthy of a glance.
