I don't know. It seems to have a bubblegum for the mind kind of feel to it. Besides when's the last time a blockbuster came out that had modern naval action as the focus (I guess Master and Commander would be the last one that had naval action as the focus)?

I agree it looks pretty bad, but I suppose it's time for the Navy to get their own alien invasion movie (Army had Battle: LA; Naval Air/Air Force had Independence Day).

I just wish an alien invasion movie would show all three arms fighting together at the same time. The closest I've seen was Skyline (which only showed snippets of each force). Independence Day was a good action flick, but I always wondered, what the fuck is the Army/Navy doing? Same with in Battle LA, for the most part, it seemed like only the US Army was fighting the aliens.

I just might have to download this one, as there is no way I could stomach the rental fee let alone the theatre cost.....besides someone needs to tell the producer that the US decommissioned all of her battleships

I'm thinking they are aware, odds are the U.S.N. will be portrayed in the film as having the USS Missouri in some sort of ready reserve where she could be instantly called up once its found that thin skinned modern destroyers and frigates can't stand up to alien weapons fire.

Realistic? Not at all, but hey, it's Hollywood. Anything is possible.
