I was channel surfing the other night. I came across a network called G4. I watched a new show called Bomb Patrol Afghanistan. They follow a Navy EOD unit on their tour of Afghanistan. All I can say is WOW! This is what reality tv could be if they quit bringing us lameass shows packed with whiny backstabbing douchbags, looking for their 15 minutes of fame. I knew Afghanistan was a shithole, but I had no idea just how many IEDs were out there trying to kill our guys off. EOD looks like a fulltime job and then some. Its like shoveling shit against the tide trying to keep up. If you liked the hurt locker, you should like this show. These guys are not actors, they are the real deal. Whether you are for or against the war in Afghanistan, you will come away with a newfound respect for the people serving there. Its on G4 network Tuesday nights at 10 PM EST.

There was a good show on CBC last night on the Passionate Eye.

Not CF but the Royal Shit-eaters. Pretty good though.

I havent seen the show, but I avoid any dramatization of EOD procedures. I tend to yell at the screen.

I still remember working on one beach, our first year on Kinmen. We'd been there almost six months clearing UXO when this dumbass Taiwanese captain or major or something comes roaring into the area, screaming and ranting, asking us what we thought we were doing. He was going on about arresting us and such. He was new and his men looked a little embarrassed about the entire matter. A phone call to his superior soon had him looking like an ass....and the next day when he had to apologize was even better, especially when he had blackmen laughing at him as he left.
