It's a new Canadian show set in Vancouver about a World Chess Champion named Arkady Balagan. He solves crimes from the hotel he stays at - it's very smart and clever. It's comparable to the Mentalist (another great show) except using different techniques.

I'd highly recommend it.
Has anyone seen this show? (it's fairly new)

Numbers/Lie to Me/The Mentalist/Endgame
Just like the CSI/NCIS series or the "Reality TV" series.
Can't they find anything original/new/different to put on TV?

Sorry for the rant, no, I haven't seen it.

NOTE: I put "Reality TV" in quotations because it doesn't actually exist. It's a myth.

I guess I'm tired of 'geniuses' solving crimes. How a bout a show where SEAL Team Six goes in and whacks the bad guys each week? That'd be cool. 8)

In a word: no. Because television executives care more for making money than taking risks. Take a look at the FOX network and their programming during the 1990s/2000s. They never really let any of their shows find an audience.

A show on Navy SEALs would actually be interesting. Though isn't McGarrett on the new "Hawaii 5-0" a SEAL?

There's a Seal in one of the NCIS series too, I think.

The Mentalist, Lie to Me, and Endgame are my three favorite shows. :(

I agree that the style is getting repetitive in certain TV crime dramas (especially CSI), but when a show adds its own twist to the general formula of these types of shows and is still smart, I find them enjoyable.

In the case of Endgame, the "genius" never leaves the hotel since he has agoraphobia, so therefore thinks of the crimes almost in terms of chess. He analyzes the possibilities and takes different approaches to solve the crimes. A lot of the solutions are pretty clever. I love it :D

The Mentalist, Lie to Me, NCIS and Endgame are my favorite crime shows. While they all may be crime solving shows, they are all unique and great. I also hated NCIS: LA at first, was complete crap but they seem to be refining it and it's doing better for them so I am also watching that. May not count as a favorite but it's a ton more enjoyable now. Don't know what they changed but I feel less like punching myself when I watch it.

Looks like Showcase wants to cancel this show. It sucks how these great Canadian shows get cancelled after only one season.

If anyone wants to help they can Sign the Endgame Petition, but I don't know how much hope it has. :(

You kidding me? Man all the great shows never last. Yet Survivor or w/e that show is called gets like 50 different versions and all the other crap shows seem to never die.

Canada definitely needs more "Next Top Models", "Idol"s, and thought-provoking teen dramas about important issues like if Tom kissed Katie at the lake. Silly original, interesting, and intelligent series like this one should never last.

How appropriate that it happened in a thread titled Endgame!
