This is my favorite book series ever!!! I am so scared by this tv show. If they fuck things up I will be in a complete rage.

Well it's HBO. They did good on True Blood and they tend to make decent shows so i'll hope for the best.

I love HBO and did enjoy True Blood - but - they did deviate a lot from the books.

I don't mind if they deviate a bit from the books. It's pretty much impossible to do a tv show line by line from the book. I just hope they can keep the spirit of the books. The books are quite complex and realistic, in the sense that there's really no good guys and bad guys, just different groups of people with their own motivations for what they do.

They just keep that dynamic in play it should be interesting enough. Sort of like factions in fallout Vegas, all just shades of grey.

I've seriously been considering finding out where Martin lives and doing a Misery to get that next book done.

This is by far one of my fave book series (and Yes I want to Smack RR Martin as well), I hope to hell they do it justice. (unlike the Seeker for the Sword Of Truth Series), I can't fathom a miniseries based on unfinished novels but we will have to see....

No expense spared it seems. Hard to judge if the story will be as good as the books, but it looks awesome! Eddard Stark didn't look the way I always pictured him, but I'm sure I'll get accustomed to that. I really can't wait till this starts.

The Others aren't quite as I pictured them. I thought they'd be sort of ephemeral and white. The two older boys, seem a little older than the story had them too.

On a funny note, a 'feud' seems to be breaking out between Martin and Lost creator, Damon Lindelof. Martin basically mused that he wanted his story to end well and not pull a Lost. Lindelof, fan of the series, fired back and stated that he hopes he doesn't have to wait five years for a reply from Martin. Here's the article.

Agree about the others and the boys. This is why I'm kinda unhappy that they're doing the tv show before the books are done. Now when the next book comes out I'll be picturing the actors as I read it. Hopefully the series is good enough to not ruin the books. If you know what I mean.
