Okay, and before I leave for the weekend here's my fanboy question that bridges ST and BSG:

What would have happened when the Borg met the Cylons?

The Shadow and Vorlon might have intevened.

The Borg would assimilate the toasters though don't know why they would want to.

The toasters in the 2003 series could move a hell of a lot faster than the Borg drones did so there's one advantage right there. Same with the improved raiders.

I don't think the Borg would have assimilated the toasters. Recall in 'First Contact', where the Queen was transforming Data. She called him 'obsolete'. She preferred the melding of machine and flesh to achieve perfection.

The skin jobs might have been of interest, but they would get their mechanical upgrades just like the rest.

That was only from Borg ego though, and as a demeaning taunt to Data to push him to joining the collective of his own free will. Technologically, except maybe for the adaptive personal shields against energy weapons, Data was far superior to any of the Borg drones. If the Borg had ever encountered a Klingon crew armed with swords and batleths they would have had a hard time of it because dialing down to that kind of primitive weaponry unaffected by shielding would have left them at a severe disadvantage.

Spent a big chunk of my weekend watching the Star Trek season 1 & 2 marathon on BBC America and it was not at all wasted time! The digital remastering made the shows amazing and the uncut episodes added one heck of a lot to the plot development.

Amazing show! [B-o]

The 'Remastered' Old series is a step up from the 60's special effects!

I like the newer 'digital' Enterprise models. I've even built one of them last winter, to pass the time.

There aren't any good models of the Galactica out there. :(

I was thinking of buying a 3d printer so I could make models that don't exist, like Galactica or the "Jack O'Neil", "Daedalus" and "Destiny" from SG1. Most of the SG-1 universe doesn't have good models. Or Babylon 5! What's a guy to do on those cold winter days? ;)

Is that the new one that's about 3' long? I have it, the large scale NCC-1701A, and the large scale NX-01 in my storage locker. Did you put in the lighting kit as well?

Also, re: no good BSG kits? NWORNG!

I have most of the BSG line in storage too. Here's my Centurion and Raider:

This is one of the worst things about losing the house where I had a nice area set up in the basement. I have my kits (about 500 of them) in storage and can build. But I can't paint, which is most of the fun, because there isn't enough room now for a spraying area and I don't want to poison the family with the fumes and such. :(

Yes! That was a pretty cool mod. For the keen eye, it's the "second pilot" version of Enterprise.

Nice! I haven't seen any before that weren't of the old BSG series.

Awesome work there! It would scare little children!

I built myself a little fume hood for airbrushing. I used a bathroom fan, and I put a chemical filter on it, like this:

http://www.jameco.com/z/WSA350F-Weller- ... 84828.html

Then there are no harsh fumes, even when using *limited* amounts of spray paint. [B-o] Plus having a 3M furnace filter on the incoming air made sure that there were very few dust bits floating in the air.

I also took some of my 'double' kits, like NCC-1701B or Voyager, and made ships of the same class that appeared in the show under other names.

Such as USS Reliant from Wrath of Kahn, it was also the ship Benjamin Sisko was second in command of at Wolf-359 - the USS Saratoga. Or The ship that tried to stop Defiant from reaching Earth when the Changelings were infiltrating - the USS Lakota.

One Voyager, I 'Borgified' like the one that was sent to Fluidic Space against Species 8472. ;)
