Today was the premier of the film Sucker Punch. It was created, and directed by Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen). This was a very good film and worth the wait. The story was well done as was the acting, and dialogue. The visual effects were superb and the action scenes were just awesome.

The main story revolves around a young girl (Babydoll), when after the death of her mother and younger sibling, was put in an insane asylum by her pedophile stepfather. Her dream of escaping is put into motion by her masteful imagination and the help of her fellow asylum inmates Sweetpea, Rocket, Blondie, and Amber. As the film progresses their attempts to get the tools of their escape becomes ever more dangerous and events begin to turn against them. And that's as far as I'll go with the story and won't give away the ending.

The film was pre-screened for critics and they went to town on this film. The critics ripped it apart so badly they even began to compare it to The Last Airbender. Let me be perfectly clear on this, the movie is not what the critics make it out to be. The whole film was very well done, and the entire cast did their roles with great competence, and above all, this film was made to mainly entertain and it does that perfectly. If you liked movies like 300, Watchmen, and Sin City then you should like Sucker Punch.

I have to disagree. The critics tore this flick a new asshole because one alone could not possibly handle all the shit this movie contained.

I respect your view of the film but I have to disagree on a couple of things. The so-called boob shots and gratuitous violence that critics complained aobut is exagerated. The boob shots weren't anything over the top nor even pornographic, and the gory violence isn't even gory at all.

Sin City, Swordfish, Burlesque, Showgirls, are just a few films I can immediately recall that have worse boob shots. Saving Private Ryan, Thin Red Line, Band Of Brothers, The Pacific, Sin City, and 300 just to name a few have far more gory violence than Sucker Punch.

I didn't list these as negatives, and I'm not complaining about them. I said that even these couldn't save the movie.

Alright, cool. Your post sounded to me like alot of reviews I've read that this film was trying to get by on simply effects, boobs, and violence.

I do have a question though for ya. In your first post you mentioned that it took more than a single critic to tear this film a new asshole because of all the shit it contained. What was all the shit that was contained in it you were reffering too?
