Brienne of Tarth looks well cast. However there is what you see on screen and then there's reality.

Kind of weird effect in last night's ep. Brienne looked like she was as tall as Gregor Clegane.

Did Margery ever acknowledge that she knew Renley and her brother Loras were getting it on?

Not in the books, no. I realize that they have to ramp up the sex nonsense in order to attract the (so-called) casual viewers that are oblivious to the existence of the source material but IMO they're taking it a bit too far. Like just because they're on a channel that will give them an R they absolutely have to make it into an R, even in situations where a mere NC-17 will suffice. Stannis never nailed Melissandre, Renly and Loras never blew each other five times a day, there were actually other citizens in Kings Landing besides hookers and johns, but for some reason they're going to show it on TV anyway.

Sigh. Even The Sopranos was more subtle than this. :|

She did in the show. :D

Brienne was great surprise! Very kick ass!

I got the books but I am holding them hostage until I get my spring chores done. XD

That was my point. No mention was really made of her 'intuitions' in the books. There were subtle hints and jibes/gybes made in the novel that Renly wasn't a 'ladies' man, but nothing as overt as what is portrayed in the TV show. it's the same with Margery...she was a little more subtle in her politics, especially when it came to Cersei's relationships with her sons. The characters are being shown as somewhat different in the HBO series than their original constructs.

I think it's exposition for the viewers who haven't read the books. Wherein the books can intimate and insinuate in pages on end, the show has an hour and so subtlety loses out.

I'm used to video glossing over things, and the books being a little more in depth when it comes to characters. This seems the opposite.

I am not sure that TV could be like a book, they are too different. When my book is good, while I am reading, I forget who I am and what room I am in. When my TV is good, it makes me go 8O. Imagination vs the visual. :D

Great episode last night, the best of the series so far IMO. I especially liked how Harrenhall was shown.
