I went to see the newest Transformers film last night, and...well...wow....in my view it sucked. It really sucked, and is the worst of the trilogy for me.
Spoilers ahead
The film started out alright, and despite having a somewhat Ok plot, the film managed to sway away from it after the first hour. A supporting cast of actors (Ken Jeong, Alan Tudyk, John Malchovich, Frances McDomand, Patrick Dempsey) who's talents were squandered by portraying non-vital characters with generally bad humour. A pointless love triangle. The main villian (Shockwave) turns out to be a complete disapointment and a bigger puts than the main villian in Transformers2 (The Fallen). Major Autobot and Decepticon characters like Ironhide, Sentinel, Megatron, Starscream, Shockwave, Soundwave, The Dreads, Barricade were dealt with generally little screen time, little dialogue, and very undignified deaths that ranged from a simple shot in the back (Ironhide) to a shitty 10 second fight with Optimus Prime (Megatron).
Then you have the most incredible military comeback (Autobots/U.S. military) in history that was lead by a team of retired, unfit, and generally overweight soldiers that ventures into the complete absurd.
Sure there was a few things I liked in TF3: the robot battles, more robots, Barricade makes his film comeback. But the negatives were so numerous and terrible that it totally eclipsed the positives. If you people ever find yourselves in a movie theater this summer I would recommend Super 8, The Hangover Part II, Bad Teacher, Green Lantern, and X-Men First Class before Transformers 3.

Not that I was running out to see this, but you might, out of consideration, want to put a spoiler alert on this.

My sentiments exactly. About half way through I found out more than I should know if I want to enjoy this movie.

That's why I only own the first movie because T2 also sucks, especially T3 without Megan Fox..

I saw it last night, I didn't mind it. I had bottom of the barrel expectations so it was actually better than i thought. Its not a great movie, but its pretty and entertaining. It is a bit too long though.

Watch it on Wednesday. I'd say IMAX 3D saved it, agreed, was a bit long. Saw the trailer for Cap America, doesn't look interesting at all, same woth the green lantern so gave it a miss too.
