I noticed that despite the next USA election not taking place until 2020 there is much discussion in that thread already.

We have an election in our country in just under 5 months yet, with the exception of comments in a few threads and news articles, there is little being discussed or so it seems.

So here it is. The 2019 Canadian Federal Election thread.

Feel free to post your thoughts and related links as we head to the polls on October 21st.

Here are a couple of links just to get started:

https://www.macleans.ca/politics/ottawa ... questions/

https://globalnews.ca/news/5191123/fede ... -minority/

Perhaps it is too soon to conduct a poll on which party members here feel will win the majority of seats but I could easily set one up. Or it could be based on which party members will be voting for. Feedback on this would be appreciated and I will follow up.

Hopefully Cons, with a 10 to 20 seat majority. I don't expect much too change overall if they win. But the energy sector won't be hamstrung and throttled by Ottawa the way it is now with Trudeau - promise to get rid of every job-killing bill and regulation the Libs have put on O&G and the Cons will win every seat in Alberta and Saskatchewan and probably most of Manitoba too. And I highly doubt that Scheer, whatever his own flaws are, would be a colossal drama-queen goof and gaffe-prone embarrassment the way Junior has turned out to be.

My early predictions: a liberal minority government. The NDP will go back to their 90’s level of representation (that is a handful of seats). The return of the BQ at the NDP’s expense.

Well, that sort of looks like a potato.

Actually, it won't matter who wins.
The economy is linked to the US, so who wins Ottawa means nothing.
Government culture and the idiotic left have continued to go way off the reservation.
No party has any plan to close the wide open doors, not even a bit.
Your kids will never be able to afford what you had.
Your tax money will continue to be wasted, and our futures compromised with
even higher debt, no matter who wins.
You will continue to be taxed to death, one way or another.

And wheels go round. Just hope they don't come off the rails.
Not during your lifetime as least.

Same.

I'd prefer a Conservative to win, but we don't have any real ones on offer right now. Haven't for a long time.

The PPC will come out of nowhere and form a government this October. Scheer is too much like Trudope, and people are tired of the same old establishment.

Maxime Bernier is the only clear choice this time around.

Nope, don't think that Bernier has a chance... I'm not voting for him, that's for sure.

My priority is I want Justin Trudeau and his gang of misfits gone.

I want it so bad I might even vote for Scheer. I call him Soy Boy # 2. He's a PROG-con but at least we can hope he'll be fiscally Conservative.

I'll feel like a traitor for not backing my man, Max though.

Hang around, Max. Get strong. We'll get em' next time.
