Two out of three Canadians do not want to see another Stephen Harper-led government.
I have to admit, I questioned this section of the article a bit when I read this, although I certainly understand the reason for the rest and its aims.
Is this based on anything, a poll or some such, or is it simply related to the voting numbers? Does this mean that the party in the lead with a third of Canadians willing to vote for them, should be defeated by a party where three of every four Canadians don't want them in office, and another party where five out of every six don't want them as leaders of our country?
After all, there have been points where the two parties above combined have had equal popularity to the Conservatives. I also remember that more people have faith in Harper (albeit not me personally, I do feel that like the Liberals the Conservatives could profit from a leadership change) than they do other party leaders in recent polls.
I don't even disagree with myself above because to me, that sounds silly. Just because I may vote for the NDP, does not mean I would be angry if another government took the seat. Just because I did not vote for the Conservatives, does not mean that I would have voted for one of the other parties. With our voter turnout in the last election dropping below 60%, I have a feeling that we are getting close to one out of every two Canadians straight out not giving a shit which leader takes charge, and that somewhat removes any party from the moral pedastal right there.
In any case, that section just irked me and I felt like I had to comment on that.
