Actually. I think that I will do exactly that! And the flag will stay 'upside down' until such time as we ONCE AGAIN have a DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED govt. Regardless of which party that is!

oh fer christ sake stop wagging your separatist tongues! Someone implied earlier we should hang you treasonous bastards. Where's the rope?
How come a coalition was ok in Harper's books when he considered jumping into bed with the Bloc during Martin's term as PM? He would do anything to hang on to power. The fact of the matter is Harper is not doing a bloody thing to help stimulate the economy in these difficult times. He's more concerned with gaining that elusive majority he will never attain. He's trying to run the country as if he has a majority already but it's bitten him in the ass. Now he will pay the political price. His attempt to drive a sword into the heart of the Liberal party by screwing with the fundraising rules has blown up in his face.
All I can say is Danny Williams must be laughing his head off right now.

WOW a right-wing newspaper with a history of being pro western serperation runs a poll where only 35.6 vote in support of western seperation. Seems rather low, and the number would be much lower from an un-biased source.

I have never met a single person in my 26 years living in BC to even mention seperation.

Perhaps it's time for to resurrect the western/Alberta separatist campaign. If the proposed Liberal/New Democrat coalition does seize power, there should be little doubt about who will be covering the costs of their much anointed "revitalization" stratagem. It will be Albertans opening their wallets to pay for the economic miscarriage created by the ineptitude and greed of central Canada's trade unions. The emergence of manufactured goods from countries with low labour expenditures is not a new phenomenon; it has been a concern within the industry for well over a decade. Yet, organized labour chose to slowly destroy their way of life with unrealistic wage demands, inflated bonus/benefit packages and substandard work ethics instead of recognizing the threat and using common sense to deal with its impending ramifications. And now the Liberals and New Democrats have pledged a multi-million dollar bail-out package to extricate these failing industries while giving little or no regard to the fundamental problems created by the mismanagement of its labour force by self-serving union leaders. I guess it is simply easier for Stephane Dion and Jack Layton to destroy the country's only viable economy instead of formulating a viable multi-level scheme to elevate the other nine. I lived through the Liberal-induced depression of the eighties. I am not interested in suffering through another and will support any western-separatist party in future elections. Perhaps it's time to shed the dead weight.

I would prefer to keep my Canada as it is, however, I can certainly understand and empathize with those that would opt for separation. At the end of the day, I would have to say that any decision I make about this, will be based on what the best thing for me and my home will be.

I've lived in Alberta all my life and I'm really tired of the BS this province has taken from the ROC in the last 40 years.

Today I am an Albertan first and a Canadian second the Canadian flag in my back yard was taken down today, I have a feeling it will never see the light of day again.

you should be tried for treason ;)

Separation by alberta would require a referendum too.. like Quebec with the ethnic vote.. alberta is made up of transient workers from Ontario, Newfoundland and other eastern provences.. so dont think it would happen ;)

That's your province's problem; the men are obsessed with balls.
