Personally I think Obama was born in the USA, there is no way he'd have the courage to do all this without someone to throw under the bus if the truth were discovered.
That was a poorly written sentence. I fail to see what kind of bus-throwing would distract the media, fawning as they are, from the fact that a guy (a Senator, no less) is not a natural-born citizen. I mean, wouldn't there be records of his naturalization?
That's exactly what I mean. There is no way to throw a sacrificial lamb out for a story that big. Obama may be one of the biggest narcissists on the planet but even he has to realize he isn't that untouchable.

This is all just useful distractions, something the Dems can whip up for sympathy and to make fun of people like Huckabee when they mis-speak.
That's one hell of a tongue-slip he made, if you ask me.
Didn't Huckabee apologize later in the same segment?

If anything I think Obama's dual citizenship at birth should have been an issue during the campaign, since his father was not an American citizen. It could be argued that Obama is not a 'natural born citizen.'
Interesting point. However, I've always understood that, in theory, an anchor baby can grow up to become president, assuming his family doesn't get deported[1]. There are plenty who, when their candidate of choice is revealed to have dual citizenship, will rebut with, "So what?"[2]
[1] That all depends on what 'Citizen of the United States' actually means, and that varies from 'expert' to 'expert.' In the end it will probably be up to the SCOTUS to define.
[2]Then I rebut with: "Then why was it so important for John McCain to prove he was born on US soil while his parents were stationed in Panama, and show *his* original raised-seal long-form birth Certificate? (Which he DID)

Not that we can do anything about it now.
Heh, I remember when I felt that way about Bush. On that note, I am thoroughly amused with the similarity of conservatives' attitudes towards Obama, and liberals' attitudes towards Bush eight years prior.
Just polarizing politics as usual. Unlike Bush though, I think Obama is using his 'community organizing' background and contacts to keep the fires stoked.
