Lately, I cant help but feel like this is true:

Image

It saddens me to see, one term after the next, the atlantic provinces getting the shaft. It is times like these that we need a strong unified Canada and aparently a Unified Canada does not include anything east of the St Lawrence waterway.

Getting the shaft eh? Perhaps we should just ask for all that money back we've siphoned into Newf and then we can go our separate ways.

I'm at the point where I don't care. If you want to go, go. If you're going to stay then stay and stfu about separation.

I'm not a separatist. But, a lot of them are crying about the budget. They say that "Again the federalists show that they prefer Anglos to Quebec." because Ontario got billions for automobiles sector and Quebec only got 175$M for forest industries.

What they don't understand is that if the auto sector was here, it's us who would have got the billions. They always find something to whine.

How can any Newfoundlander be surprised? Your Premier ran during the last election called "Anybody but Conservatives" and yet the Conservatives still retained power. Now you think you're going to get attention from the Conservatives? Are you insane? Its like intentionally poking somebody in the eye, and then asking for a loonie.

Why single out NL? The post was more about the atlantic provinces. Got something against a provice that give more to the rest of the Country then it takes? And yes, Quebec even gets the shaft from time to time.

Ironically, that analogy, sums up the way the Canadian Government has been treating NL since Confederation.

Wait untill they start exporting their gas and oil, they will then be paying out instead of getting equalization payments, that's what this is all about, getting screwed they are not.

I did some research a few weeks ago on their future oil and gas exports and this is sweet.
There is contracts with American energy companies and Alberta energy companies to develop their offshore gas and oil deposits and they cant break them.
There's a company from Texas along with lot's of Calgary Alberta oil patch consultants setting them up to be major exporters.
They invested lots of coin to do this, they are setting them up for a steady secure supply of gas and oil in exchange for long term contracts.

So I imagine soon they will be a have province and have to start paying more then they get.
