Not blaming you for anything, merely commenting on how I found this to be entertaining and I suppose semi-blaagh (mainly because what I don't know regarding math could fill a tanker). Beyond that, carry on. :o

Sorry for taking so long. When I tried to come to the forums, I got server errors for several days, and then I forgot to check whether they were working again until now.

haha @ Zipperfish. And, no, because a bazillion is an integer (followed by an unknown quantity of zeros). All integers are rational numbers, and this number is not rational. QED.

QW: You know, I had the same server errors problems for a few days. Had me a little worried, actually.

Hrm... My problem here is that there are an infinite number of irrational numbers between any two given real numbers. It would probably be useless to narrow down the whole portion of the number, since there would still be an infinite number of possible sequences after the decimal and it's unlikely that the whole portion would provide a clue to the rest. So I have to find an inclusive set of irrational numbers. The questions that come to mind, however, are probably unanswerable. For example, the question "Is it a ratio of two roots of integers?" might be infinitely difficult to answer. Or, on the other hand, it might be true of every real number. It would take a formal proof to answer. I'm not yet cruel enough to pose such a question, but it's hard to think of more useful, less complex alternatives.

Q5) Does the required simple-enough-you-can-remember-it form contain a root or fractional power of any kind?

Actually that particular question wouldn't be hard answer at all. A ratio of two roots of integers would be a root of a rational number.

Yes.

If I were really nitpicky, I could complain, that your question is slightly ill-defined, but that would be going a bit far.

Sorry for taking so long.
