Just a phrase for thought: if gwb declares war on iran after the zionist 'Is real' Israel has already bombed iran, there will be NO elections, because, gwb has forseen this, and has taken it upon himself to introduce a long list if "presidential directives" , over the last 7 years, that has led up to, and includes his abilities to govern during a state of emergency....e.g., Martial Law. Go to White House...Presidential Directives..., and you will see that everything is in place. No election will take place. gwb, cheney, and homeland security chief will have absolute power. But, what will be left to power, if NUKES, the fallout of which are carried on prevailing winds, circumventing the Globe. Potassium Iodide pills will keep you from dying from the fallout. But, aside from the desire to see what happens next, do you really want to live long enough to know? I do. Ya know, couriosity killed the Cat. I still want the U.F.O.s to come and rescue us.

Ummmmm yeah.

Wars have never been an excuse for suspending elections in this country and they never will be. Were Bush to declare martial law he'd still be expected to make an exception to let people go to the polls and he'd still be expected to get out of the White House by 12:01pm on January 20, 2009.

Of all the GOP candidate, I find Ron Paul the most interesting, mainly because he's 100 years too late to the Republican party.

I don't support any candidate with any amount of passion. It's like a race of weaklings on both sides, so far. I hope the primaries and caucuses hold some surprises. I don't want to choose the strongest of weaklings.

And if the election is between Hillary Clinton and Ron Paul, I'll be voting 3rd party.

You know the last few American elections have produced at least in my opinion nothing but empty minded morons from both the Democrats and the Republicans. I really question how long this can last before everyone start seriously considering forming a new party.

It wouldn't be hard to top what everyones putting forward as a "President" All you need is sadly a few billion dollars for advertising.

Oh please, the US has plenty of representatives to pick from that are not morons. Well except Larry Craig. It is the people of the United States that elect and if they are not happy with their rep on any issue that rep votes on they have a phone, email or they can walk to the office they can get involved and shape their nation directly.

That's the 'new party' your looking for. A public that gets involved in the way the country is run. We have that in Canada as well and we suffer from the same state of malaise but it is something that can be cured if people use that which has already been granted to them.

Looking on from the sidelines Thompson looked hopeful. He projected the presidential image, appeared calm and reasonable, very laidback, but then sadly became indecisive and hesitant.

If Thompson had maintained his "pickup truck" style he would have been a "shoo-in" but his image has blurred to that of indecision----I doubt his heart is really in it and so do the voters.

Seeing as the "pickup truck" image is pretty much completely feigned anyway, I won't shed too many tears if that particular idea starts to fall apart.

Actually the "pick-up" image is fairly accurate but you misinterpret it. Thompson declares the thing he liked best about it was it got him away from his staff/handlers. A serious candidate had better be used to relying on staff and the rest of the hoopla----an atmosphere Thompson detests----but is unavoidable for a POTUS.
