http://www.salon.com/news/politics/war_ ... alsh_debt/

Here we have Rep. Joe Walsh of Illinois,[no relation to my guitar hero from the greatest American rock band to emerge from the 1970's]. A freshman member from the tea party elected to represent his district in Congress. It would appear as though Rep. Walsh has a problem practicing what he preaches. Rep. Walsh wants to take President Obama to task for his inability to balence the budget. I am all for that. When it comes to economic policies, I am on the far right. I will probaly go to my grave with these beliefs, and make no apologies for those beliefs. I disagree with the left wing. I have spent my life opposing the left wing. I am a product of the cold war.

I despise a hypocrite. You know the type: the preacher preaching fire and brimstone caught buying a prostitute, the anti gay politician caught soliciting gay sex, the anti-drug talking head getting busted for Dr. shopping for pain killers, the anti gun advocate shooting someone for trespassing on their property, the left wing Senator advocating higher taxes on the wealthy while his wealthy wife maintains residency in a lower tax State than the State he represents. You get the point. Lots of people talk the talk, but have a major problem walking the walk.

Rep. Walsh is behind over $117,000 in child support payments. I have to ask: why is he not in jail? That kind of nonpayment is a felony in most States. This POS should be breaking big rocks into little rocks for a while. His condo was repossesed while he makes a six figure salary? I do not want this POS representing my party. He needs to walk before we make him run. Rep. Walsh: do the right thing, and resign. You do not represent me or my party. You are a deadbeat that obviously believes that rules do not apply to you. If you choose to stay, I am going to ask my left wing Rep. to bring criminal charges against you. I am sure that she will have no problem with that request. Quit screwing over the taxpayers of your district, and leave now.

I had a drinking friend from another forum, a young women with a history degree, and her personal philosophy was "hypocrisy is everything". It's a sobering point of view. That may be the way it is.

The TeaParty really did deliberately turn a blind eye to a lot of crooks and whackjobs just because they were somehow, in the moral netherworld of contemporary rightwing American politics, considered electable. What's worse though, the sleaziness of a Joe Walsh, the genuinely deep batshittery of a Sharon Angle or Christine O'Donnell, the corporate puppet strings that are visibly attached to marionettes like Rick Scott, Scott Walker, and John Kasich? Or is it the willing suspension of most TeaParty voters who decided that such things were essentially unimportant as long as they won an election by more and were thus able to stick to the detestable foreign-born black Muslim in the White House? :|

I understand where you are coming from, but believe that it is not that black and white. I live in Nevada. I REALLY wanted Sen. Reid out of office. Sharron Angle did not know when to quit. To borrow a quote from the three stooges: "everytime you think, you weaken the nation". That would sum up Sharron Angle's campaign. If she would have shut up, and refused media interviews she might have won. The more she spoke, the more we realized what a retard she was. On top of that, she is a hypocrit as well. She preached against the Govenment, while she is living on a Gov. pension from her husband. She should be barred from politics. Same with Christine O'Donnell.Every rightwinger was saying what a deadbeat she was. She had no business running for dog catcher. As far as Rep. Walsh is concerned, I would have to say that no one conducted background checks in his election. A few minutes effort would save a lot of heartache now.

Don't you think the Teaparty is summed up by "keep your government hands off my medicare?" They want govt spending cut, as long as it takes away somebody else's benefits, not their own. They live in the same free lunch dream world as the rest of America, probably more so. And all those Teabagger pols that got elected will be playing the pork game for their district soon enough - that's how you get re-elected.

That's a dangerous philosophy to live by. Hypocrisy is not the same as advice founded on one of the adviser's faults.

Honestly I have never heard a teabagger say: "keep your government hands off my medicade". If you can provide some links where teaparty members are pro government in any way, I challenge you to do so. I have not encountered it myself. This is the political party of Ted Nuggent. Have you ever heard Ted's political beliefs? If you,me,and Ted were stranded on a desert island with no animal or plant life, You would be breakfast. My far right views would spare me till dinner at best.

Were it me, you'd both be garroted
from the bard Nugent's instrument ere dawn.
If Nugent's guitar's already destroyed,
I hope my flesh is marbled to your taste.

Cong. Walsh is being sued by his wife for her claim of back child support as part of what she's demanding from him in a divorce settlement. Knowing what I know of the courts, if this was court ordered child support his accounts would've been attached and he'd have already paid this whether he liked it or not.

Meaning that if the very aggressive child welfare folks haven't pressed this then it is probably just a facet of a vindictive divorce proceeding.
