Dadgummit, I wish you people would stop acting as if it were the end of the world. Shed a single solitary tear and let's get on with our lives! We lost. Suck it up and stop acting like some sort of pansy ass liberals.

I agree with you. We lost an election that would of been a MIRACLE for Conservatives/Republicans to win. Seriously, the fact of the economy, Bush, the war, Conservatives being completely demotivated, and who knows what else I am missing, all of this against McCain, and the media basically giving Obama a pass, and McCain still did reasonably well. In a normal situation, like in 2000, McCain would of probably would of had a landslide victory. But really, I'm glad he lost today, the Republican party needs to clean house a bit. Lick its wounds, and come back in 2010 or 2012. The fact that people believe Conservatism is dead in the United States is showing their ignorance of the situation. It might be kicking the Republican party needs.

I had hoped they might learn from the 2006 election, but politicians are notoriously thickheaded.

LOL. What country do we get to threaten to move to?

All I'm worried about is the potential for the "Political Correctness" kangaroo courts that spring up whenever the far-left is in power.

Choices are pretty limited. I think in the "world poll" they did only Georgia and the Phillipines were pro-McCain. Well, at least you have a choice.

Nah, the Conservatives maybe, but the politicians didn't. Politicians need to lose their jobs to understand, usually.

I don't really know where capitalism is headed, but it sure isn't the United States...

Without a shred of sarcasm, I would guess the People's Republic of China.

Hey, with Global Warming and such, it'll be like that. Don't worry...though by then I'll be living in Yellowknife. I love the cold.

No one else is bothered by the fact that the entire world basically hates us, and is excited at Obama becoming our prez? People that want to see large amounts of us destroyed, giddy at the thought of a democrat controlling the military.

Man I seriously can't wait to see how much of other people's expenses I get to pay. Yippee.

So I hear Alberta is nice this time of year...

I find it amusing that Obama gets elected on Tuesday, and I get sick Wednesday. Good thing I don't believe in omens.

For you doomsayers who think Obama will reap the destruction of America, remember: Democrats aren't just ideologically wrong, they're also incompetent at implementing their ideology. =]

Both parties seem incredibly incompetent at the moment, even making their ideologies known, much less implementing them. Never have we seen an election be LESS about what two men think the country should do.

The interesting thing to see will be how he will try to keep his group in one peice. As I mentioned earlier, he, somehow, managed to endorse both sides of the Prop 8 battle during the campain, but now that that is over, he is going to have to make choices. You can't be all things to all people all of the time.

I'm trying to picture the level of incompetence required to manage this with a near complete control over the House, the Senate, and the Presidency, combined. I would sooner expect one to forget how to breath, then manage to blow this one.

As much as I don't think Obama is suited to be president, I'm genuinely curious to see how his presidency will turn out. Historically he's been a big talk-do nothing who's consistently shied away from making controversial political decisions that could come back to haunt him (personal decisions being a bit of a mixxed bag, though)... which makes for a great powerless figurehead, but not so much a president in times like this.

Despite his charisma, I imagine Obama will be largely remembered as meaningless president who didn't really accomplish anything. I certainly could be wrong, but I don't expect to be.
