Has anyone else seen the documentary "
Split: A Divided America"? It talks about the partisanship in the USA and the nature and deterioration of political discourse that results. I'm only about 1/4th the way through it at this moment, but I don't see them finding any solutions by the end. In any case, it's MUCH better edited and compiled than any other political documentary I've ever seen. It's clearly far better than The Corporation, Fahrenheit 9/11, and Loose Change. It's also available for free on Hulu, which is always a plus.
Anyway, I'm finding it thought-provoking and beautifully non-partisan. Some good points:
- One guy recommended someone watch the televised Nixon/Kennedy debates. He calls Nixon "The last person to think live on TV."
- They argue that relevant political discourse was removed from the public and held mostly between talking heads on TV. People see the shows, take a side from what they watch, and then disrespect rather than debate with everyone else.
