This one made me chuckle. I'll be casting my ballot in Virginia's 8th District next Tuesday, and it's been a sad sort of entertainment to follow the can-you-top-this revelations of George Allen's racism. Nice to see that he's, uh, fighting back. But really, I do hope that there are enough of us in Northern Virginia -- a sort of self-proclaimed state within the state, and a haven for Democrats -- to offset the sometimes embarrassingly rednecked rest of the Commonwealth.

i almost always love your comics but on this one i thought you might want to read a page out of his book you are referring to.

http://www.rightwingnews.com/category.php?ent=6620

its about a man who has sex with his very young son. (page 333) I would want to know if someone wrote this before id let them in my house let alone run my country.

I'm not trying to troll or anything your message is certainly right about politics being ridiculous at best. At least if you work in the media. Like Russia just because its on the news and politicians parrot it doest mean people think it.

So you're saying that you wouldn't vote for Stephen King if he ran for office, regardless of how well-versed he might be on the issues?

Granted, it's quite disturbing, but once again, it's a work of fiction. I won't say it wouldn't bias my opinion, though, but if I scrutinized both candidates and found the porn-writer to be more qualified, then I'd vote for the porn-writer.

Hehe.... good comic, though I somewhat peeved that I just found out that I'll probably not be able to vote this time around as my absentee ballot information was lost by the county clerk's office and there's only a one in a hundred shot that I'll be able to drive back home to vote.

The hilarious, and I really mean hilarious, thing was that Tennesee and Missouri were way closer than Virginia beofre Allen said "Macaca". Now, the Democrats may lose both Tennesee and And Missouri, but gain Virginia. Oh, the irony.

Losing Virginia will be bitter for Republicans. It will be the signs to come in subsequenet elections within Virginia. With Mark Warner considering a Senate run in 2008, and John Warner (no relation) getting up there in the years, the Republicans have a problem on their hands.

Missouri may always be a close call, but it usually trends Republicans. Tennesee may less close than anyone thinks.

Stay tuned.

What an incredible load of hooey. They're down to who writes what as a FICTIONAL NOVEL? God forbid Tom Clancy or Anne McCaffrey should run for office...

I know you were only using it as an example, but I hope god does forbid Tom Clancy from running for office. That guy doesn't seem to realise the cold war is over..

Yeah. On that same note, I hope Anne McCaffre doesn't get to either. Crazy whore doesn't realize people don't ride dragons anymore :p

Clancy's a good fiction writer, and the Cold War is an interesting time period for spies to run around in.

As far as the porno campaign, I'm much more concerned with somebody running for office with a criminal record or intent to defraud the nation than having even really crazy stuff in a book. I just don't see it as important enough to get bent out of shape over, or as a good determination of a man's ability to run an office.

On that note, I should bitchslap you silly. She's a classy old lady, emphasis on the lady. You'd bite your tongue if you ever met her...and BTW, the dragon books are only about a third of what she's written.

Same here. What bent me outta shape about Clinton wasn't that he had sex with an intern, but that he thought he had the right to lie about his sexual history during a sexual harassment case. Nobody is above the law, and such questions are standard methods of determining the character of a defendant. Any CEO dragged into court by his secretary would get the same treatment.

Now, if Clinton had looked into that camera and said "Yeah, I banged 'er like a screen door in a hurricane, and if you go a problem with that, you can BITE me", I'd have been one of his most ardent supporters.

If he had, I would have supported Clinton just because of that analogy.

This comic reminded me of why I love reading it.

I recently got into a little debate with someone over the matter of the literature acheivements of politicians. He pointed out that it's a way to judge character and used Hitler's Mein Kampf and Kennedy's Profiles in Courage. I pointed out it's probably less applicable when it's fiction. This was more debated over the fact democrats pointed out some raunchy books some republicans wrote.
