Filibuster Cartoon
Title: Take Ralph, please! (click to view)
Date: November 13, 2006

The outgoing premier of Alberta, Ralph Klein, seems to be close to the end of his political career that he simply no longer cares.

How else to explain his latest jab at Belinda Stronach? It really defies further parody.

For my American friends, before you watch his gag, keep this in mind. Belinda is now a member of the Liberal Party, but she used to be a Conservative. She once dated the Conservative Foreign Minister Peter McKay.

That Belinda joke has been going around for ages anyway. Ezra Levant told it at a Ontario PC Youth Convention years ago.

I never cared for Klein, far too smug for me. His little rant in the homeless shelter a few years back was the final straw...I'm glad he's retiring, although I'm not sure who the best replacement is.
