Eagles cut Tebow after dealing Barkley to Cards

No mo' Tebow.

The Philadelphia Eagles did not keep Tim Tebow after all.

When Chip Kelly’s Eagles traded third-string quarterback Matt Barkley to Arizona on Friday, most read that as a sign Kelly would keep Tebow, who has been attempting a career comeback this spring and summer as a fourth-stringer in Philly.

But no. Kelly cut Tebow early Saturday afternoon.

He explained quite bluntly at a news conference that Tebow just wasn't good enough.

Take a quess at who owns his CFL rights? Boo Als if you do.

The Als don't like the idea though.

That might be a good thing for other teams. Montreal did think Michael Sam was a good idea. I'd be willing to bet against their instincts after that.

Apparently other CFL teams have been making offers for Tebow, but he's not biting yet.

I haven't heard why, but Cato had to go home last week for personal reasons and you didn't read the story you posted. Bills and Eagles are 2 different teams, check the date.

you could still be right tho, the way they've been moving Tony up the ladder from Quarterback coach last week to OC this week. Maybe he's going to put the pads back on.

Finally, at long last us Rider fans are rewarded with a win. Thank you coaches and players alike. Well done. Room for improvement but a win all the same. Watching Jerome finally break the leash today was wonderful and proved to all of us fans who were calling for him to be more involved - that we were right. Good to see Anthony Allen get some touches. We took some nasty penalties but our overall count is way down from previous games. Brett also proved that he deserves to start. Shaky start but solid finish. Rock on Riders.

I hope you are thanking the Bomber coaches and players, 'cause we handed the Riders that win on a silver platter.

Oh darn...right...missed that.

So I guess that ends the 'yeah Lulay's injured - again - but no worries, we'll get Tebow' talk in my head.

It's OK. I'll just substitute Cato. We'll take him then.

I have to say that the Bombers certainly didn't help themselves by taking so many bad penalties which, yes indeedy, helped my guys out. They also had a bit of a hard time trying to stop Jerome from rushing for downs and yards. We'll see how things go in the Banjo Bowl.

Come on Esks let's do this, and no third down gambles on your own 3 yard line no matter how much time is on the clock.

Was that rabbit named Christ? Because, aside from the bunny and the Stamps defence, everyone else on the field should be ashamed for putting on such a low-scoring bore-fest of a game.
