They are doing awfully well. CFL season is short and sweet.

The Cats had a few problems yesterday but they managed to pull off the win. Yeah Cats.

That sucks, you put in the effort and the weatherman mails it in.

Never a bad idea to bring a couple of those big orange garbage bags to an outdoor event.

It don't matter now hey [B-o] and the Oiler rookies beat the Flames after spotting Calgary 2-0 1st period lead to finish the game 6-3.

Without McDavid.

Fortunately the weather won't be a factor in Sunday's game, I just hope the sun shines down on the Lions as they will need all the help they can get whenever they can get it........

Aww, it wasn't all that bad. There was no wind so that was a huge bonus. I was layered up and we bought ponchos to keep dry. Ish. Our feet got absolutely soaked so after the game we're chilled but during the game we just had a soggy good time. :D

Oh yeah, they speculate at about 3-5 weeks....damn guy has spent way more time on the sidelines than any Lion I can remember. What they should do is just cut their losses and make a coach out of him....

Quote:
VANCOUVER -- John Beck will make his first CFL start for the BC Lions at quarterback on Sunday night against an Ottawa REDBLACKS team searching for its first win at BC Place.

Travis Lulay sprained his ACL at the end of the first quarter in Thursday’s game against the Montreal Alouettes and will miss 3-6 weeks. Beck took over afterwards, throwing two touchdowns and helping the Lions to a 25-16 victory.

I must say, watching the Stamps vs. Eskies game, it was nice to see Mike Reilly back and playing. That guy is a tremendous competitor, and I have a lot of respect for him. With 3 TD in the game, his impact was immediate.

Burris sets passing record in Ottawa RedBlacks romp

Washed up? Ridiculous.

Too old? No chance.

At age 40, Ottawa RedBlacks quarterback Henry Burris still has some serious freaking game.

All of Burris' critics can put this in their pipe and smoke it. The RedBlacks shredded both the Montreal Alouettes and the CFL record book on Thursday night. Burris completed 45-of-53 passes for 504 yards as the RedBlacks won 39-17. The 45 completions broke a single-game, regular-season CFL record of 44 set by Montreal's Anthony Calvillo Oct. 4, 2008 vs. Hamilton. Burris set the record early in the fourth quarter on a pass to Patrick Lavoie.

Burris threw for touchdowns and also ran into the end zone for two touchdowns of his own. Chris Milo booted three field goals and the RedBlacks also got a safety.

“The guy's an ageless wonder – the work ethic he has and the grind he puts in day in and day out to get better – it truly is special,” said RedBlacks receiver Chris Williams, who had nine catches for 98 yards and a touchdown.

“People know how I am, I'm not a big record guy, I'm all about getting victories,” said Burris. “If that's what happens, getting a record, then so be it. But for me, it's a tribute to the offensive line, it starts there first, then the playmakers outside gave me time to read the coverage and get the ball to them.”

It was a shame more people didn't see it. The attendance of 21,607 on a chilly night fell about 3,000 short of a sellout. So far for Tuesday night, against the Argos, the RedBlacks have sold just 11,000. Time to jump on that bandwagon, fans.

Sure does look like firing Higgins was the right move for the Als. ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL
