Picross is a grid-and-numbers game, sort of like Sudoku, but you're trying to make images, not just a grid. Here's the basic layout of a Picross map before being touched:

And here's a tutorial map, so I can show you how to play better.

You can see the numbers on the side of the rows and top of the columns. Those are what you use to play the game - depending on those numbers, we can see how many spaces are filled in for each row and column.
Because this is a 5x5 map, and the top row has 5 filled squares, the entire row is filled in. The bottom row has 0 filled squares, so we leave it blank, or put Xs in it to show to ourselves that there is nothing filled in there. I'm using red to fill in spaces, but you can use any colour you want.

Now we can solve the columns at the top. Note the column in the middle - it has two numbers, 1, then 2. This means that there is a section of 1 filled space, one or more spaces not filled, then a section of 2 filled spaces. Let's fill this column first.

Filling the first and fourth columns accordingly will finish the puzzle.

As you can see, the Xs are not essential to the puzzle solve.
I'll have a point system in place - The first person to solve the puzzle gets a point, since image copying could happen. Subsequent posts of the same solve get no points. If the post times are listed, and are close enough to eachother (within seconds), and both answers are right, then both posters will earn a point.
Here's the first five.

They're all fairly simple - try your hand at them if you didn't understand my explanation completely. And don't be afraid to post your solve if there has already been one posted, it's just the first correct one that gets a point, not the first one at all.
