There you go, you want a slower game, play hard core. It's a different play style than core.

So whats the final word PS3 or Xbox ? been thinking of getting a game console again ever since the PS3 came out.

Back in the day had a PS2 and borrowed a Xbox from a friend and hated it, somehow that still is stuck in my head that Xbox is going to suck. Also not a fan of anything like COD or Halo, netflix, online gaming etc etc

My fav all time games were Gran Turismo and Tekken and that what pulls me towards getting a playstation again, is there anything equivalent or better for the xbox ?

Tekken and gran turismo are ps3 games (IMO the forza series is better). The Xbox is better for online gaming though.

OnTheIce OnTheIce:
bootlegga bootlegga:
I do - I just know that buying an awesome game for a new console I've never played before won't be fun, it'll be frustrating - especially when some smartass kid from Russia frags me.

No, I'll wait a bit before I buy a game like Black Ops 2 - I'll start out with whatever game comes with the system I get and see that goes first. Once I'm confident of my abilities, then I'll get something like Black Ops 2.

They offer a new mode in Black Ops 2 that allows you to get your feet wet and play with only newbies and not kids from Russia who've been playing for 2 weeks straight.

Thanks, that's good to know - maybe I'll pick it up in after Christmas, when the baby is a little bigger and I have some more free time.

Right now, I'm hooked on Battle Pirates on Facebook, which is an RTS and free.

Based on what I've heard (here and elsewhere online), I'm thinking PS3.

I don't have a problem waiting until next year (I've waited this long already, what's a few more months) for the PS4 or Xbox 3, but the wife wants something for the dead of winter, so she has something to do while on mat leave.

Yeah I guess if I do dive into gaming again looks like it'll be a PS3. Although games for these new consoles so something like GT and Tekken also make sense because they can be played endlessly, and like I said before couldn't give a rats ass about online gaming.

Does bring back good memories though when me and elder bro spend hours on end in 2 player mode, only time we ever had fun as bros

Just seconding (or thirding) a lot said alreay. PS3 for online gaming, Netflix (and now has a pretty good youtube interface). As far as blueray goes, if you are never using a system for gaming then why buy a gaming station for Blueray when stand alones are cheaper.

Either the Wii or XBOX Connect are better for excessive or "motion" games. I have the move and am not impressed with it or its limited selection of titles.

If you have kids Nintendo offers the best selection of kids games. The PS3 is nearly void of good games for younger kids.

No, I went with a new 500 GB PS3 - I likely won't buy a PS4 - I'm not one of those people who has the latest, coolest stuff. It was $299 and came with a year's membership to PS Net Plus.

Black Ops dropped to $44 during Boxing Week, so I picked it up, but haven't cracked it open yet, will probably do so this weekend.

I also grabbed the rifle that the PS Move fits in for $15 - now I just need to find a decent looking game for it.

Good choice for what you need I think. Paying an extra $XX for Gold Membership doesn't make sense when you don't have to purchase anything for PSN plus a Blu Ray player to boot. Games are just an added bonus for you.

I recently won an XBox 360 at the work Christmas party and returned it because I rarely play games anymore and my PS3 does everything I need it to.
