Someone has just found a smoking gun which proves that a federal MP was bribed into stepping down to give Stockwell Day the opportunity to run in a by election.
As someone in these forums recently said (a "pretty" red Tory I recall), that there's a long tradition of MP's crossing over from one party to another, and therefore to do so was not only perfectly fine, but also perfectly legal and not misrepresentation.
As there's also a long tradition of one MP stepping down to allow another MP to get a foot hold (payment for said services received or not), and therefore to do so must not only be perfectly fine, but also perfectly legal and not misrepresentation.
My point is that professional politicians are both experienced lawyers and "in the know" criminals, and as a result they know how to never commit crimes while they engage in acts of fraud, theft and general mayhem. When they overstep the bounds, the entire system comes to their aid, and they always are acquitted and let loose to wreak more havoc and mayhem on a seemingly masochistic population.
